Sawyer Hartman, the YouTube star whose short films and video challenges have attracted 1.8 million subscribers, is making the big jump to a feature-length film with "The Parallax Theory."

The movie, adapted from his own short film "Parallax" about a young astronomer and physicist who believes a meteor is barreling toward Earth, debuts Tuesday via Vimeo On Demand, though its 90-minute running time will be broken down into six chapters premiering weekly.

“We kind of wanted to take a traditional film format and not take anything away from the story but make it a little more acceptable and exciting for the web,” Hartman tells Entertainment Weekly.
