For one night, they leap off the computer and onto the TV screens -- which makes for one crazy experience for YouTube stars Grace Helbig and Tyler Oakley.

The hosts of Thursday’s 5th Annual Streamy Awards on VH1, honoring the best of the Internet, from YouTube videos to Vines, gave Made in Hollywood Teen a behind-the-scenes peek at working the big live show.

“If there’s one thing I learned about hosting when it came to the Streamys, I would have to say it’s expect the unexpected and be okay with it,” Oakley said during a break in rehearsals Wednesday. “You just have to be ready for anything things will go wrong.”

“I also learned hosting the Streamys that there are so many people involved in the making of an award show,” Helbig says.

“With a YouTube video,” adds Oakley, “it’s one person usually editing, doing the lights, doing the sound, doing everything. Here it’s like a production."

As he spoke, the Hollywood Palladium theater on Sunset Boulevard was swarming with dozens of camera operators, sound people, stage hands, choreographers and countless other people on headsets.

Oakley and Helbig spent the day running through their opening monologue, which they read off a huge Teleprompter at the back of the ballroom set up with tables and chairs for an audience featuring Internet luminaries like Chelsea Briggs, GloZell Green and Michelle Phan.

Says Helbig: “It’s a beautifully choreographed dance.”

The Streamy Awards airs Thursday at 10 p.m. ET on VH1 and will be streamed below:
