WORST: "We Solved It"
Yeah, you guys still need to solve why anyone thought this diversity sketch (with the "One of Each" dancers) was a good idea.
WORST: Worst Hosts Ever?
Here's an update Colin Jost and Michael Che: You bombed. You didn't earn one laugh (except from a tipsy, polite in-studio audience). Next time, we ask Hannah Gadsby to host.
WORST: "History of the Emmys"
WORST: Michael Douglas's Odd Advice
We mostly think of Michael Douglas as a winner -- he has an Oscar and an Emmy. But his strange advice tonight was to the losers. "I wanna offer some advice to the losers. Carry that rage. Let it fuel everything you do from this night forward. You were cheated. You were robbed. That's a fact." Huh?
WORST: WTF Was Up With Benicio Del Toro?
Just when we thought the random presenter pairings of actors couldn't get any stranger, Benicio Del Toro told a befuddled Ben Stiller and Patricia Arquette, "We killed, and we will kill again." And then the mike went dead?
BEST: Hannah Gadbsy
Now THAT is how comedy is done, "Weekend Update" dudes. In her brief intro, Gadsby earned more laughs than the rest of the show combined.
BEST: Sandra Oh's Parents!
BEST: "Killing Eve" star Sandra Oh brought her parents to the show. WORST: Oh, whom we all thought was going to win, lost out to Claire Foy. :(
BEST: Surprise Proposal
Now that's how you do live TV. What promised to be a boring acceptance speech became an on-air proposal when Oscar producer Glenn Weiss asked his girlfriend to be his wife. (She said yes.)
BEST: Reparation Emmys
Handing out "Reparation Emmys" to overlooked actors, including Jaleel White from "Family Matters" was hilarious -- and a little heartbreaking. And Bryan Cranston was a good sport in a spot mocking his many Emmys.
BEST: Anti-Banter Banter
BEST: Thandie Newton's Reaction
Most actors say they didn't expect to win in their speeches, but you can't fake a blown-away reaction like this. The flustered "Westworld" star then swore on live TV, one of three winners to keep the censor busy. Oops!
BEST: RuPaul and Leslie Jones
BEST: Borstein's Braless Moment
"The Marvelous Miss Maisel" costar Alex Borstein accepted her award with a shimmy, then announced that yes, she had gone braless. Now that's chutzpah!
BEST: Jeff Daniels Thanks His Horse
Jeff Daniels, who won Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited Series for his cruel cowboy on "Godless," thanked his horse. And then said it never stopped comparing him to its former costar, Jeff Bridges on "True Grit." Even though said horse threw him three times, resulting in a broken wrist. (It's healed now. He was able to hold that heavy Emmy just fine.)
BEST: Claire Foy Gets Choked Up
Okay, even if you were rooting for Sandra Oh or Keri Russell (or Elisabeth Moss or Evan Rachel Wood) to win Best Actress in a Drama, when Claire got choked up and dedicated her award to the upcoming cast of "The Crown," we got a little misty too. This was Foy's last season as Queen Elizabeth II. Next season Olivia Colman takes over.
