In the TV program 'Boost your budget', host Sofie Østergaard checks in with five different families in Denmark. Together with the two financial experts Helle Snedker and Nicolaj Christensen, she helps the families to face their finances and get their budget under control.

1. Single mother with sky-high rent
Karen is a single mother of two, and even though her finances are tight and she is the only one responsible for all expenses, she still prioritizes living in the middle of vibrant and expensive Copenhagen. But the rent in Karen's apartment is high and prevents her from living the life she really dreams of. With the help of host Sofie Østergaard, Karen must now learn to take control of her own finances and get closer to her dream.
2. At SU at the age of 54
Laila and Peder, who live on Venø in the Limfjord, have recently made two big decisions: Laila has quit her job at a late age and started studying to become a psychologist, and the couple have bought an old holiday home that needs to be completely renovated. But can the couple save money on their insurance? Or can a loan restructuring save them?
3. The dream of early retirement
Anette, who lives in a townhouse in Kalundborg, has a strong desire to retire early after her two children have left home. Retiring early from the labor market is an expensive dream, so 48-year-old Anette has to set aside a lot of money every month if she is to achieve her dream. Together with two financial experts, host Sofie Østergaard will help Anette find money in her budget to make her dream of retiring at the age of 60 come true.
4. Farewell to the hamster wheel
Kirstine and Christian live on an abandoned farm with their young daughter, Frigg. They spend a lot of money, and their finances are only possible because Christian has a high salary. But the pressure of work is taking its toll on him, and a large housing expense with rising interest rates means that the couple need to get their finances in order and make some big decisions. At least if they want to realize their dream of working less and spending more time together as a family.
5. Bon vivants - is there enough money?
Marianne and Henrik have 8 children between them, and now the last child has moved out of the house in Store Heddinge. They love the good life with delicious food and family dinners, but suddenly it has hit them that there is a life after the labor market: A life as pensioners, which they have not given much thought or money. But can they "afford" to continue this good life when they retire, or have they started too late?
