Coke Studio Season 5: Episode Guide & Ratings

Season 5 Plot

Coke Studio returned for its fifth series on 13 May 2012. Rohail Hyatt and Umber Hyatt continued as producers of the show. Among the houseband, Louis 'Gumby' Pinto left the show due to his being the executive producer of the show Uth Records by Ufone. Jaffer Ali Zaidi also left the show and was replaced by Mubashir Admani. Raheel Manzar Paul and Zulfiq 'Shazee' Ahmed Khan also left the show. Farhad Humuyun was recruited as the new drummer for the fifth series.

Coke Studio Season 5 aired on May 13th, 2012.

Bohemia is the very first rap artist to feature at Coke Studio. Hadiqa Kiani performed a rendition of Sufi poetry by Bulleh Shah. Hamayoon Khan covered a famous Pushto folk song fusing it with pop music. Atif Aslam and Qayaas performed a cover version of Charkha Nolakha, originally sung by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.

Atif Aslam performed Rabba Sacheya which is a famous poetry by Faiz Ahmed Faiz. Meesha Shafi performed a duet with the Chakwal Group (Chakwalis) for the song Ishq Aap Bhe Awalla.

Overload covered the song Neray Aah Zalima We from the movie Choorian directed by Syed Noor.

4. Episode 4

June 24th, 20121 hr

Fareed Ayaz & Abu Muhammad performed Rung, which previously performed by Hadiqa Kiani in season 5.

Meesha Shafi performed Dasht-e-Tanhai which is a song by Iqbal Bano.
