However, fate takes an unexpected turn when Ella becomes attracted to Joshua, who, unbeknownst to her, is destined to be Maura's husband. Ella steps back, determined to ensure Maura's happiness with Joshua, but everything changes when Ella moves away and tragedy strikes her husband, Samir. Leaving Ella pregnant with Maura as her support, and with Maura facing infertility, Ella gives hope to her friend by agreeing to Maura's idea of surrogacy. However, fate takes another cruel turn when an accident claims Maura's life.
