Zé Diogo's sister gets married during a Brazil match at the 1982 World Cup. Helena carries her father, who is drunk. Mário and Álvaro travel to Vila Feliz on the same train.

Álvaro apologizes to Mário for the terrible reception they received. Álvaro dreams of the day Zeca Ventania disappeared. Madalena prevents Álvaro from being lynched.

Zé Diogo and Clóvis argue. Álvaro asks Eliana to find Helena's address. Madalena tells Helena that Álvaro called. Chico Treva gets hit by a rock and Helena helps him.

Ataxerxes invites Mario to lunch at his house. Candida arrives in Rio. Zé Diogo argues with Clóvis again because of Helena and is arrested. Helena wants to live in Rio de Janeiro.

Zé Diogo tells Helena that he fought with Clóvis because of her and kisses her. Ataxerxes informs Ametista that he is going to Rio with Helena. A fortune teller tells Zé Diogo to run from death.

Bruno takes Ataxerxes and Helena to Mario's apartment in Rio de Janeiro. Bruno tells Helena that Mario is in love with her. Deborah waits for Alvaro at the restaurant.

Débora argues with Álvaro in front of Helena. Alma gives Débora a sedative. Helena goes to Mário's apartment. Bruno introduces Helena to Mário's friends. It's raining heavily.

Álvaro ignores Débora, and Alma thinks there will be no wedding. Helena goes out with Mário's friends. Mário suggests to Zé Diogo that he write a book of poems and short stories.

Deborah is taken to the hospital and Gerson is informed of the accident. Mario declares to Amethyst that he loves Helena. Alvaro apologizes to Deborah and gives Helena a bouquet of flowers.

Álvaro and Helena kiss, and she leaves. Olavo and Zé Diogo plot to discredit Mário. Mário proposes to Helena. Débora tells Álvaro that she will stay at his house until she gets better.

People discover that it's Chico Treva at the party, and a commotion ensues. Débora argues with Álvaro, but they later make up. Clóvis, Raul, and Sérgio attack Chico Treva.

Chico Treva saves Zé Diogo. Paquita tells the mayor what they did to Chico Treva's shack, and Noronha orders them to fix it. Álvaro tells Alma that he wants to postpone the wedding.

Helena pretends not to hear Álvaro and marries Mário. Filó asks Zé Diogo to forget Helena. Lídia confesses her feelings to Zé Diogo. Álvaro discovers that Helena married Mário.

Zé Diogo writes a love letter to Helena on the sidewalk in front of the hotel, and she gets angry. Madalena tells Helena that Álvaro called and she told him about the wedding.

Álvaro is moved by Débora's persistence in winning him over and decides to marry her. Zé Diogo confesses to his mother that he is suffering because of Helena. Álvaro dreams about Helena.

Zé Maria tells Helena that he had premonitions when she was a child. Lídia overhears Ametista and Ataxerxes discussing his past affair with Paquita.

Álvaro is surprised by Débora's delay. Helena and Débora argue. Mário and Helena return to Vila Feliz. Filó tells Zé Diogo that Helena is back. Mário gives Helena a car.

Mario pulls a doll with a threatening note from the pool. Deborah apologizes to Alvaro and promises to forget everything. Helena tells Paquita that she is having trouble getting pregnant.

On the road, Sérgio grabs Helena, and Chico Treva saves her. Álvaro doesn't care about the wedding preparations, which irritates Débora. Ametista and Lídia take Helena to the farm.

Helena is worried about Mario's interest in her pregnancy. Álvaro and Débora attend the wedding rehearsal. Helena tries on a maternity dress and Débora tries on a wedding dress.

Candida is taken to the hospital. Lídia almost runs over Zé Diogo. Paquita meets Ataxerxes and the two reminisce about the past. Álvaro asks Gerson to cancel the wedding.

Débora causes a scene at the hotel and Álvaro breaks off their engagement. Helena avoids Mário. Mário tells Bruno that he will have to stay longer in Vila Feliz. Cândida shows improvement.

Álvaro tells his mother that the wedding has been postponed. Helena argues with Ametista about Madalena and Paquita. Débora says she hates Álvaro. Mário attacks Sérgio.

Mário argues with Helena, slaps her, and says he needs to spend a few days away. Sérgio discovers Helena's lie and reveals it to everyone. Helena's house is invaded, and Zé Diogo saves her.

Zé Diogo and Helena arrive in Rio and go to Zé Maria's house. Mário confesses to Ataxerxes that he still loves Helena. Sheila asks Sérgio to buy Helena's house, but he refuses.

Deborah tries to get back together with Alvaro, but he ignores her. Ataxerxes tells Amethyst that he misses Helena terribly. Candida invites Helena to her house, and she accepts.

Cândida comforts Débora and advises her to react. Mário tells Sheila that he sold the house. Débora pretends to leave Cândida's house, but hides in Álvaro's room.

Gerson and Alma are happy to learn that Débora has decided to move. Maria tells Zé Maria that Batista is coming back. Álvaro finds Débora in his room; she tells him she loves him and hugs him.

Helena tells Álvaro that she didn't know that was his house and reveals that she separated from Mário. Débora is traveling. Helena runs away from Álvaro and tells Mário that she wants to make the separation official.

Helena accepts Mario's invitation to lunch and they promise to be friends. Alma reads Deborah's diary. Mario tells Bruno that he no longer has any hope of reconciling with Helena.

Álvaro and Helena promise not to separate again and kiss. Solange has dinner with Cândida. Lídia tells Mário that Zé Diogo was looking for him. Sheila tells Mário that she is moving.

Álvaro leaves a meeting to go meet Helena. Zé Diogo tells Filó that he's going to publish a book. Mário discovers that Lídia is in love with Zé Diogo.

Zé Diogo threatens Sérgio and humiliates him in front of Sheila. Alma goes to Cândida's house. Lídia informs Zé Diogo that his debt has been paid by Mário. Helena prepares dinner for Álvaro.

Gerson confesses to Alma that he needs Álvaro in the company. Ataxerxes discovers that Helena rented an apartment in Rio de Janeiro. Zé Diogo kisses Lídia. Batista gets a job.

Zé Maria welcomes Ataxerxes and his family. Bruno asks Helena to write to Mário. Mário moves to Ataxerxes's farm and invites Chico Treva to have dinner with him.

Helena shares her news with her family. Ataxerxes introduces Maria to Ametista. Álvaro arranges a meeting with Helena. Ametista struggles to adjust to life in Rio de Janeiro.

Alma suggests that Renata and Solange find out who Álvaro is dating. Helena feels humiliated because of the video, and Ataxerxes comforts her. Sérgio flirts with Nice, Mário's maid.

Álvaro is unable to speak with Helena. Mário takes Chico Treva to the hospital, and the doctor suggests he be taken to Rio. Helena asks Lídia to tell Álvaro that she has traveled.

Helena reassures Chico Treva and tells the nurse that he is her best friend. Alma comments to Álvaro that business is not going well. Nice allows herself to be seduced by Sérgio.

Mário notices Helena's sadness. Álvaro is hurt when Ataxerxes asks him to forget Helena. Mário tries to kiss Helena, but she avoids him. Helena visits Chico Treva.

Álvaro believes that Helena has resumed her marriage with Mário and leaves. Batista consoles Claudete, who fought with her boss and she sleeps at his house. Álvaro disagrees with Cyro.

Helena confesses to Lídia that she misses Vila Feliz. Álvaro gets annoyed when he sees the tape Débora sent and thinks about Helena. Isaura tells Ataxerxes about Helena's nausea.

Lídia and Isaura try to reassure Helena, and she decides to have the child, even though she will have to raise it alone, but resolves not to tell Álvaro. Alma encourages Débora to win Álvaro back.

Maria kicks Batista out of the house and says that Claudete destroyed her home. Débora pretends to have twisted her ankle and prepares dinner for Álvaro. It rains heavily and Débora decides to stay with Álvaro.

Álvaro tries to keep his distance from Débora, but she kisses him and confesses her feelings. Ametista is furious about Helena's pregnancy and warns that she will not help her with the baby. Mário sees Helena is pregnant.

Helena tells Mario that the child she's expecting isn't Álvaro's. Mario tries to convince Ametista to forgive Helena, but he can't. Sergio sleeps with Nice. Helena sees Álvaro with Débora.

Amethyst discovers that Ataxerxes spent Christmas with Helena and pretends not to care. Lydia is furious with the indifference with which Zé Diogo treats her. Mario spends Christmas with Chico Treva.

Álvaro is surprised when Débora says she wants a simple wedding party and is disappointed to learn that she is not pregnant. Zé Diogo announces Helena's pregnancy in Vila Feliz.

Amethyst and Ataxerxes argue. Helena asks Candida about Álvaro. Deborah tries on her wedding dress. Helena moves out and Candida offers her a job.

Zé Diogo tells Mário that a publisher in Rio wants to publish his book. Alma tells Débora to get married with a prenuptial agreement. Ataxerxes discovers that Ametista has left home.

Ataxerxes thinks Amethyst won't be coming back. Mario tells Helena that Amethyst is at the farm. Gerson argues with Deborah, and she says she knows that Alvaro is the company's largest shareholder.

Débora reveals to Cândida that she wants to get married under a community property regime, and Cândida tells Álvaro, who doesn't mind. Mário argues with Ametista, and she returns to Rio with Zé Diogo.

Helena tells Ametista that everyone missed her. Zé Diogo goes to Helena's apartment and is surprised to be greeted by Lídia. Helena finds Zé Diogo at her house.

Helena invites Zé Diogo to be the godfather of her baby. Zé Diogo strolls through Rio with Lídia. Maria notices that Claudete is feeling nauseous. Ametista sees Lídia and Zé Diogo kissing.

Amethyst argues with Zé Diogo and Lídia. Zé Diogo treats Helena's son as if he were his own. Alma thinks her daughter's marriage won't last long. Zé Diogo returns to Vila Feliz.

Isaura and Lídia decide to go to Helena's wedding. Débora fears that something will go wrong at the ceremony. Cândida is saddened to learn that Álvaro will be living abroad after getting married.

Furious, Débora argues with Helena when Álvaro arrives at the church and they get married. Helena leaves devastated. Renata catches Débora's bouquet. Débora and Álvaro sleep in separate rooms.

Deborah and Alvaro arrive in Buenos Aires. Alma misses her daughter. Helena can't determine the baby's sex during the ultrasound. Helena promises Candida she will visit her.

Débora shows interest in Álvaro's meeting and is devastated to learn that she will have to live in São Paulo because of her husband's job. Mário goes to Helena's house.

Helena pretends to Cândida that Mário is still her husband, and he takes advantage of this to hug and kiss her. Cândida tells Álvaro that she met Helena's husband. Alma and Gerson argue.

Helena talks to Cândida while Álvaro remains silent, and later tells Isaura that she met him. Lídia travels to Vila Feliz. Mário offers Zé Diogo a dinner at the farm.

At the maternity ward, Zé Diogo likes to be treated as Beatriz's father, Helena's daughter. Ataxerxes is informed that his granddaughter has been born. Débora considers working, and Álvaro loves the idea.

Helena shows her daughter to Ametista, who doesn't want to hold her. Débora refuses to get pregnant and makes Álvaro rent an apartment for them. Romeu and Zé Diogo fight over Lídia.

Amethyst realizes her daughter lied to Candida, and Helena promises to tell the truth. Helena is touched by Candida's affection for Beatriz. Ataxerxes opens his snack bar.

Helena celebrates Beatriz's first birthday with a party. Maria complains that Batista only thinks about Claudete and Isabel. Cândida tells Álvaro that she was with Bia.

At the store, Helena greets Débora as a customer, and Débora responds sarcastically. Helena argues with Débora and is fired. Débora asks Álvaro to return to São Paulo.

Helena tells Cândida the truth about her marriage to Mário and says that Bia doesn't have a father. Álvaro prepares dinner for Débora. Clarinha, Tuquinha, and Betsy sneak out at night.

Ataxerxes tells Helena that he still hasn't received the money for the property. Due to non-payment, Betsy's piano is returned. Zé Diogo tells Helena that he still thinks about her.

Alma goes for a boat ride with Leandro. Cândida offers Helena a job. Helena gives Ataxerxes the money to pay off his debt. On the phone, Álvaro hears Bia's voice.

Gerson argues with Alma. Cândida tells Helena that she would like her and Beatriz to live in her house. Gerson tells Eliana that Alma betrayed him. Betsy wants to sing on Chacrinha's show.

Deborah tells Alma she never wants to see her again. Candida gives Helena jewelry to keep in the bank. Alma looks for Alvaro. Ataxerxes discovers that Helena sold the car.

Isaura tells Maria that Bel is sick. Gerson tells Débora that he is disappointed with Alma, and she advises him to find a lover. Daniel tries to destroy Chico's plantation.

Helena calls Vila Feliz and asks Ataxerxes to return. The doctor says Bel is suspected of having pneumonia. Ametista discovers Lídia's tattoo. Alma calls Álvaro.

Deborah forbids Alma from calling her house. Alma goes to Candida's house. The building manager threatens to fire Batista. Gerson returns to work. Claudete wants Helena to baptize Bel.

Débora tells Alma that she sought her out because Álvaro forced her to. Ametista goes to Helena's house and thanks her for what she did for her father. Nice gets a job at the hotel in Vila Feliz.

Alma and Gerson argue, and he suggests they reconcile. Zé Diogo takes Clarinha, Lídia, and Bia on a picnic without Helena's knowledge. Romeu and Tide fight at the diner.

Zé Diogo arrives in Rio, brings a small piano for Bia, and tells Helena that Mário is in love with an older woman. Lídia finds Álvaro's photo among Helena's things.

Álvaro tells Cândida that Alvinho is sick. Ataxerxes finds Chico Treva, who was fired from the cemetery, lying on the road. Betsy rehearses to sing live.

Alma asks Ana questions about Helena. Ataxerxes tells Helena about Chico's condition. Betsy performs at a nightclub. Bia finds photos of Álvaro and shows them to Cândida.

Helena tries to explain how Álvaro's photos ended up in her house. Romeu tells Tuquinha that Tide got married and is a father. Helena arrives at Alma's house in Petrópolis.

Helena is charmed by Alma's house. Renata tells Solange that she has the impression she's seen Helena before. Rosita tells Alma that many people at the party are flirting with Mario.

Alma shows Helena photos of Álvaro and Débora. Cândida tells Celeste that she wishes Helena were her daughter-in-law. Bia asks Helena about her father. Tuquinha meets Tide at the diner.

Helena confesses to Isaura that she fears Álvaro's return to Brazil. João asks Selma to play the piano. Ataxerxes shows Ametista that business is slow at the snack bar.

Bia wakes Helena up saying she dreamed about her. João puts Selma's piano up for sale. Bia threatens to run away to Cândida's house if Helena punishes her.

Romeo and Tide destroy the entire diner, while Ataxerxes dreams of transforming it into a restaurant or grocery store. Alma tells Álvaro that she is dating someone.

Alma is surprised by Débora's visit, and the two treat each other very formally. Helena invites Zé Diogo for a week's vacation in Belo Horizonte.

Amethyst tells Ataxerxes that the house has been sold. Isaura tells John that Helena cannot buy the piano. Candida tells stories to Alvin. Isaura takes Bia, who has a fever, to the doctor.

Bia and Álvaro are talking. Alvinho tells Débora that he liked Alma more than Cândida. Alma goes to Mário's house. Claudete and Batista leave, leaving Bel with Bia.

Isaura tells Lídia that Clarinha has a mysterious boyfriend. Débora wants Rosita to decorate her house. Bia visits Ataxerxes and Ametista. Tuquinha says she changed boyfriends.

Álvaro goes with Patrícia to his office, while Eliana and Lídia talk. Débora hires a nanny to take care of Alvinho. Clarinha kisses Tide and is surprised by Ataxerxes.

Isaura kicks Tide out of Helena's house and tells Clarinha to choose between continuing their relationship or moving into Helena's house. Débora goes to meet Álvaro and becomes jealous of Clarinha.

Helena tries to convince Chico to return to Rio with her. Alvinho goes to the office with Álvaro and observes Lídia. Rosita invites Débora to go to a samba school rehearsal space.

Rosita says she would like to parade as a featured performer in a samba school. Isaura and Lídia see Tide and Romeu at the samba school's headquarters. Tide grabs Tuquinha by the arm and gets punched by Felipe.

Mário introduces Bia and Alvinho, and the two go to the garden. Álvaro plays pool and ends up forgetting about his date with Débora. Helena picks up Bia at Alma's house and argues with Mário.

Débora is impressed by Mário's friendliness. Filó tells Lídia that Zé Diogo is thinking about moving to Rio. Lídia tells Helena that she is working at Álvaro's office.

Ataxerxes tells Amethyst that he would like to give Bia a piano. Felipe declares to Álvaro that he is in love with Tuquinha. Lídia, jealous of Zé Diogo, argues with Helena.

Isaura tries to convince Lídia to make peace with Helena. Zé Diogo forcibly kisses Helena. Álvaro says that Débora continues to be spoiled and selfish. Mário takes Bia and Alma out to lunch.

Isaura says Helena was wrong to fight with Mário. Dona Filó goes to the doctor. Helena forbids Bia from going out with Mário. Ataxerxes and João plan to start a business. Mário meets Álvaro.

Zé Diogo tells Helena that Chico Treva was seen on a highway. Débora discovers that Mário was married to Helena, gets furious, argues with Álvaro, and he goes to sleep in the office.

Débora overhears Selma inviting Helena to see the piano. Álvaro tells Alma that he had a brief romance with Helena. Mário explains to Álvaro that Bia's father is a former teacher of Helena's.

Zé Diogo announces that he has rented the apartment next to Helena's. Débora calls Gerson and asks him to come back soon. Isaura claims that Lídia is jealous of Zé Diogo.

Débora tells Álvaro that she wants to die. Zé Diogo and Isaura organize a surprise party to celebrate Helena's birthday. Alfredo recommends complete rest for Cândida.

Álvaro asks Danilo to deliver Cândida's gift to Helena. Maria asks to start the house renovation immediately. Débora asks Álvaro if he thinks about Helena.

Débora says she suspects Bia is Álvaro's daughter, and Gerson suspects Alma is involved. Ataxerxes tells Helena that Ametista is very upset.

Helena confesses to Isaura that she regrets not telling Álvaro about her pregnancy. Ametista tells Ataxerxes that she feels worthless. Lídia reveals to Álvaro that she is Helena's sister.

Gerson tells Débora that he is still investigating Helena's life. Clarinha tells Ataxerxes that she never saw Tide again. Lídia finds Zé Diogo lying with Helena.

Lídia argues with Helena and says she told Álvaro that they are sisters. Patrícia meets Gerson and Débora. Helena tells Isaura that she doesn't want Bia to get close to Alvinho.

Débora tells Bia never to speak to Alvinho again and tells Gerson that there's a plot against her. Lídia goes with Maria and Tuquinha to the bar where Betsy is working.

Zé Diogo asks Helena if Álvaro is the great love of her life, but she doesn't answer. Débora lies to Cândida, saying that Helena and Álvaro are still having an affair.

Débora begs Álvaro not to abandon her. Betsy tells Ametista that Rogério is interested in Lídia. Paula invites Mário to give a lecture on agronomy at the school.

Chico Treva gets scared while trying to cross a busy street and is hired by a priest at a parish. Eliana tells Gerson that Helena is Lídia's sister. Alvinho visits Bia.

Alvinho apologizes to Bia for his mother's behavior. Gerson invites Alma to dinner. Chico Treva sees Ametista and tries to follow her, but is stopped. Helena fears Bia's contact with Alvinho.

Álvaro runs over Débora and takes her to the hospital. Lídia confesses to Eliana that Bia is Álvaro's daughter. Álvaro tells his mother that he is going to get a divorce. Bia tells Helena that Cândida abandoned her.

Débora tells Álvaro she's going to get a lawyer. Alvinho tells Bia he believes his parents are going to separate. Mário defends Helena, and Alma wants a separation. Helena meets with Álvaro.

Helena and Álvaro are talking when they are interrupted by a call from Débora, who threatens her husband. Mário goes to Helena's house. Ataxerxes invites Ametista to João's house.

Mário tries to kiss Helena, but Zé Diogo arrives. Alvinho misses his father and Débora scolds him. Helena asks Bia not to be friends with Alvinho anymore. Chico Treva follows Ametista.

Chico observes Helena's building. Alma encourages Débora to take a lot of money from Álvaro, and she tells her mother that her husband absolutely cannot know that Bia is his daughter.

Chico Treva is taken to the police station. Alma tells lies about Helena to Cândida. Débora gets angry when Alvinho talks about Bia and Helena. Chico cries in jail.

Helena meets with Álvaro, they kiss and arrange another date. Mário asks Helena to come back to him. Débora hugs and dances with one of Álvaro's suits.

Alvinho enters Débora's room and she kisses him. Distressed, Helena goes home. Chico Treva is released. Without Helena's permission, Álvaro takes Alvinho and Bia for a walk at the club.

Helena tells Isaura that Álvaro proposed to her. Bruno flirts with Sheila at Helena's house. Alma goes to Mário's house. Helena discovers that Sônia is not with Bia.

Helena is distraught over her daughter's disappearance. Ametista prays for her granddaughter in church and is observed by Chico Treva. Álvaro declares his love for Helena and kisses her.

Álvaro tells Helena that Bia lied because she wants to remain friends with Alvinho. Álvaro asks Débora to be tolerant with her son. Helena wants to rekindle her friendship with Cândida.

Rosa, Celeste, and Onofre try to eavesdrop on Helena and Cândida's conversation. Débora punishes Alvinho. After much reluctance, Cândida finally makes peace with Helena.

Chico Treva approaches Bia and Bel, and the girls are frightened. Bia reveals to Helena that she wishes she were dating Álvaro. Bruno remembers who Chico Treva is and tells Helena.

Helena and Chico Treva are emotional about their reunion, and Helena takes Bia to meet him. Lídia packs her things to move into Mário's house. Alma goes to Helena's house.

Lídia moves into Mário's apartment. Alma follows Helena and sees her meeting Álvaro at a bar. Zé Diogo overhears Helena telling Isaura that Álvaro is Bia's father.

Débora gets annoyed when she finds out her mother visited Helena. Alma gets furious when she hears Lídia talking about Mário with Eliana. Bia invites her friends to visit Chico, and he is touched.

Sheila is interested in buying João's piano. Zé Diogo treats Helena with indifference, and the two argue. Helena is stunned to learn that Zé Diogo sought out Álvaro.

Helena asks Lídia not to let Zé Diogo talk to Álvaro, and Lídia makes up a lie. Sheila argues with Claudete and says she's going to ask the building manager to fire Batista.

Alma gets furious with Débora. Ametista says that Ataxerxes is sick, worrying Helena. Tide tries to talk to Tuquinha, but Maria stops him, threatening her with a revolver.

Rogério examines Tuquinha and says the bullet grazed him. Mário is patient with Débora, who is having a crying fit. Helena tries to get closer to Lídia, but is treated coldly.

Alma and Débora argue. Batista asks Helena to let Claudete and Bel sleep at his house. Claudete and Batista argue. Alvinho leaves in a car with Onofre and is followed by Débora.

Débora watches her son playing with Bia. Zé Maria says he misses Isaura. Bia tells Paula that she and Alvinho are forbidden from being friends. Sheila gives João a check.

Betsy tells Amethyst that she's going to do a show. Alvin and Bia meet. Alvaro gives Helena the address of the apartment. Zé Diogo invites Bia to dinner and is indifferent towards Helena.

Ataxerxes tells Betsy that he lost his money, embarrassing Amethyst. Lydia introduces Roger to Zé Diogo. Deborah imagines an accident involving Bia and begins to get closer to the girl.

Chico stops Débora from pushing Bia. Gerson asks Alma for a chance, but she rejects him. Tide is sought out by his wife and children. Débora pretends to be sick, and Alvinho is terrified.

Álvaro goes to Débora's house, calls a doctor, and misses his meeting with Helena. Romeu takes Tuquinha to Tide's wife's house. Lídia poisons Helena against Álvaro.

Débora tells Rosita about the plan she made against Helena. Lídia disrupts the atmosphere between Mário and Helena. Helena argues with Álvaro. Romeu takes Tide to meet Tuquinha.

Álvaro and Helena make peace and love each other. Eliana comforts Gerson, who is unhappy because he can't get back together with Alma. Tide refuses Tuquinha's help. Ametista decides to sell the furniture.

Eliana tells Débora that Álvaro is going to meet with Helena. Ametista sells everything and pays Betsy. Débora observes Helena's building, Chico Treva approaches, and she starts to cry.

Terrified, Helena asks Clarinha to call Zé Diogo. Débora asks if Helena liked the gift. Helena argues with Mário. Claudete can't get Bel a place at school.

Álvaro argues with Débora, and she, angry, threatens Helena, telling her to choose between Bia and Álvaro. Tuquinha comforts Batista. Worried, Helena doesn't take Bia to school.

Amethyst is introduced to Alvaro. Tuquinha sends clothes for Tide's children. Gerson fears for Débora's actions. Isaura goes with Bruno to the bar where Betsy works.

Amethyst doesn't think it's fair that Helena is hiding from Bia that Álvaro is her father. Sheila finds Chico Treva sleeping in her car. Batista is fired. Lídia goes to Zé Diogo's house.

A TV producer, a friend of Tuquinha's, watches Betsy's show at a bar and asks the singer to contact him. Lídia wakes up in Zé Diogo's bed. Alvinho arranges a meeting with Bia.

Amethyst, Ataxerxes, Isaura, and Bruno almost catch Álvaro kissing Helena. Mário confesses to Zé Diogo that he is very worried about Bia. Isaura asks Zé Maria to forget about her.

Joana and her children are amazed by the abundance of food, and she asks Tuquinha to be her son's godmother. Cecília meets Isaura at Helena's apartment. Sheila meets Gerson.

Gerson flirts with Sheila. Álvaro tells Helena what Débora did, and she leaves without Alvinho seeing her. Helena decides that Bel will live with her so she can go back to her old school.

Helena helps Bia and says she's sure who ran her over. Eliana gets annoyed when Gerson asks her to buy flowers for Sheila. Débora finds Sheila in Gerson's office.

Helena confides in Mário. Débora invites Sheila to lunch, and Gerson doesn't understand anything. Cândida goes to Helena's house. Eliana tells Débora that she has the key to Álvaro's apartment.

Álvaro and Débora argue, and he tries to kick her out of the apartment. Débora tells Álvaro about Helena's past and threatens him. Alvinho and Bia go out together. Gerson meets Marcinho.

Chico Treva takes care of Bia, and she argues with her classmates who mock him. Álvaro and Helena discuss the past. João takes a watch to be appraised and is robbed.

Eliana implies that Débora took the apartment keys, and Álvaro orders that no one enter his office in his absence. João tells Rosália that he was robbed.

Ataxerxes dreams about what to do with the money he won in the lottery. Álvaro calls Rosita to organize Cândida's birthday party. Alma is happy to see Mário.

Débora tries to talk to Mário, but he walks away with Alma. Álvaro asks Débora to leave the party, and she makes a scene. Drunk, Gerson tries to attack Mário.

Paula and the children ask Chico to make a garden at school. Romeo tells Tuquinha that Tide argued with Joana because she accepted his help. Amethyst gets into Deborah's car.

Cândida argues with Helena about all the lies she discovered about her at the party. Alvinho asks his father to buy a piano for Bia. Álvaro and Helena kiss, and Bia sees them.

João's family decides to get rid of the piano while he's away. Bia tells Alvinho that she saw Helena and Álvaro kissing. Mário tells Alma that he likes Helena.

João shouts, demanding they stop carrying the piano. Ametista advises Helena to stay away from Álvaro because of Débora. Sheila borrows money from Gerson.

Helena argues with and almost hits Bia. João tells everyone that his family betrayed him and takes the piano to the beach. Álvaro asks Ataxerxes to tell João that he wants to buy the piano.

Zé Diogo tries to save João. Dressed as a bride, Selma runs to the square when she sees her father's body being carried away. Bia tells Alvinho that she wants to run away from home.

Clarinha reveals to Helena that Bia has disappeared, and everyone starts looking for her. Upon discovering that Bia is at Mário's house, Helena argues with him, and Bia returns home.

Ataxerxes wants to ask his senator friend for political support. Luiz and Selma are thinking about renting a house from Maria. Álvaro says he signed the documents Eliana gave him without checking them.

Ataxerxes writes a letter to his friend, the senator. Mario tells Álvaro that he will fight for Helena's love. Selma gets ready for the wedding. Renée goes to Débora's apartment.

Selma marries Luiz. Bia consoles Selma over her father's death. Débora tells Renée about Helena's past and says that Álvaro needs a classy woman. Tide goes to Tuquinha's house.

Tide grabs Tuquinha, and Batista threatens him with a gun. Tuquinha gives Tide money to leave. Mário declares his love for Helena and asks to live with her.

Ataxerxes is saddened to have to return the tickets. Renée doesn't let Helena stay alone in the apartment waiting for Álvaro. Sheila informs Débora that Ataxerxes is at Helena's house.

Deborah pretends to be the mother of one of Bia's little friends to Ataxerxes. Amethyst says she wants a job, and Helena is surprised. Deborah leaves a note on Helena's closet mirror.

Helena asks Clarinha to take Bia and Bel to Zé Diogo's house. Helena hugs Mário. The doorman hands Helena an envelope with the photos Débora took of her apartment.

Chico Treva panics and a man puts out the fire. The priest throws Chico out of the church and Ametista takes him away. Cândida meets Chico and is charmed by him.

Zé Diogo threatens Débora, and she finds a message from him on her mirror. Alma goes to Álvaro's office, overhears Sheila making comments about her, and decides to enter the room.

Bia is sad because Helena can't go to her school party. Alma threatens Sheila and argues with Débora. Bia goes to sleep at Cândida's house, and Helena and Álvaro spend the night together.

The villagers are preparing a party for Selma and Luiz. Débora gets angry when Zé Diogo offers her a ride. Ataxerxes goes to the building where his senator friend lives.

Gerson talks to Débora about selling the house in Petrópolis. Ataxerxes manages to speak with one of the senator's aides. At a party, Bia is accused of stealing a necklace.

Bia asks to leave and Ametista argues with Débora. Ametista asks Bia not to tell anyone what happened at the party. Lídia tells Zé Diogo that she dreams of getting married in Vila Feliz.

Débora tells Alma that she will ask Álvaro to buy the house in Petrópolis for Alvinho. Álvaro invites Bia and Alvinho to lunch. Bia asks Helena to tell the truth about her father.

Bia tells her mother that she knows her father is alive and lives in Rio, but Helena denies it. Ametista tells Isaura what happened to Bia at the party. Bia and Alvinho get trapped in the club.

Álvaro and Helena make plans for the future. Débora tells Álvaro what happened to Alvinho. Mário invites Helena's parents to spend Christmas with him.

Álvaro suspects that the incident with Alvinho was another setup by Débora. Alvinho's condition worsens, and Débora becomes nervous. After examining Alvinho, Bruno and Álvaro go to Helena's house.

Débora asks Bruno to take care of Alvinho at home, but the doctor insists he needs to be hospitalized. In the village, everyone celebrates Christmas, while Rosália misses João.

Bia gives Alvinho a picture of Baby Jesus that she took from the nativity scene at Mário's house. Tuquinha gives Tide a present. Alvinho's condition worsens, and Débora faints in the hospital corridor.

Débora asks to die in her son's place. Gerson tells Álvaro that Alvinho's condition has worsened. Cândida faints upon learning of her grandson's state. Álvaro sees an image of Zeca Ventania.

Débora confesses that she was the one who locked the children in the club. Bia tells Helena that she doesn't want to leave Alvinho's side. Betsy shows Lídia the dress she will wear at the show.

Mário and Chico Treva will spend New Year's Eve with Helena and Bia. Ataxerxes dreams of a political position and receives a telegram. Débora apologizes to Alma and Cândida for her mistakes.

Deborah asks Helena for forgiveness. Lydia encourages her father to enter politics. Bruno tells Sheila and Eliana that Alvinho has improved. Bia goes to visit her friend in the hospital.

Alma informs Cândida that Alvinho has left the ICU. Tuquinha suggests that Betsy perform at a large concert hall. Helena notices when Bia is indifferent towards Álvaro.

Helena and Bia go to visit Alvinho. Débora and Helena chat like friends. Alvinho returns home. Débora invites Bia to go to Petrópolis. Tuquinha is chosen to be the flag bearer.

Selma suspects she's pregnant. Angrily, Tide watches Tuquinha with Felipe. Bia is startled to see Débora watching her. Débora tells her mother that Álvaro will not marry Helena.

Álvaro suggests that he and Helena try to convince their children of their love. Joana tells Romeu that she suspects Tide is armed with a knife. Mário goes to pick up Bia in Petrópolis.

Mário tells Helena that he doesn't believe Débora has recovered. Débora suggests to Alvinho that he invite his father to spend a few days in Petrópolis. Selma confirms her pregnancy.

Helena tells Mario that she will tell Bia the truth and marry Álvaro. Ametista looks for a job at a dance academy, but the teacher thinks she's too old. Betsy prays for her sister.

Matias confesses to Bia and Bel that he is dating Filó. Sheila looks for Débora, but is ignored. At a restaurant, Bia asks Helena and Álvaro if they are going to talk about the wedding.

Sheila tells Gerson she needs money. Ataxerxes tells Zé Diogo that he received several telegrams from the senator's staff. Bia makes her first communion and Chico is baptized.

Débora asks Álvaro for one last chance, but he rejects her. Cândida reveals to Helena that she will benefit Bia in her will. Débora takes Bia for a walk and calls Álvaro.

Amethyst is worried to learn that Bia went out alone with Deborah and warns Candida. Bia notices that Deborah is acting strangely and asks to leave. Deborah borrows money from Sheila.

Helena tries to talk to Débora, but the two argue. Ataxerxes visits Batista. Sheila tells Gerson that Helena is with Débora. Lídia tells Clarinha that she broke up with Rogério.

Helena asks to tell Bia the truth alone. Cândida says she will report Débora to the police. Álvaro reveals to his mother that Bia is his daughter. Ataxerxes calls the senator.

Helena tells Bia that her father is waiting for her in the square, and Bia finds Álvaro with open arms. Bia tells Alvinho that she is his sister. Mário says goodbye to Helena.

Álvaro tells Débora that he bought the house in Petrópolis for her. Ametista attends a ballet performance. The senator invites Ataxerxes to run in the next elections.
