Season 1 Plot
Childhood best friends. Two halves of a whole. The cool, smart one who's good at almost everything, and his average, dorky friend who struggles to do anything right—Yamato and Kakeru. Always by the other's side, but not together in the way they truly want to be. No matter how hard they try, their hearts cannot reach each other.

1. The Person I Love Is My Childhood Friend
Handsome and smart high schooler Yamato is best friends with his not-so-clever classmate Kakeru. One day, Kakeru asks him a tricky question.
2. We’re Still Best Friends from Now On...!
The mood between Yamato and Kakeru becomes awkward following the group date. Kakeru angrily defends Yamato when their classmates bad-mouth him.
3. Selfish Thoughts
While accompanying his mother on a shopping trip, Kakeru runs into Akane. Yamato sees them together and, feeling a pang of jealousy, confronts Kakeru.
4. Someone I Want to Be with Forever
Kakeru feels puzzled by Yamato’s nonchalant attitude following their embrace. While on a school trip to Kyoto, they observe the night sky together.
5. School Trip Promise
At Fujino’s insistence, Kakeru ends up walking around Kyoto with Akane, but he is distracted by thoughts of his original promise to Yamato.
6. Everything with You Is Important
When Yamato seeks to have no memory of kissing and confessing to Kakeru on the school trip, a shocked Kakeru says that their friendship is over.
7. What I Want to Convey Properly...
Yamato encourages an unconfident Kakeru. Kakeru resolves to take part in a school tradition by giving Yamato a present and confessing his feelings.
8. I Hope This Feeling Reaches You
Yamato and Kakeru decide to go on a do-over date on Christmas Eve. But on his way to meet up with Kakeru, Yamato spots a schoolmate in trouble.
