Season 2 Episodes
12 episodes
1
Here We Go Again
This documentary - the first in an ongoing Episode II series - explores the road taken by George Lucas and his trailblazing crew. From the first digital babysteps in The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles and Radioland Murders, to the cutting-edge techniques in The Phantom Menace, to the latest breakthrough of an all-digital Episode II, here is a look at uncommon innovative spirit that seems so common in Star Wars filmmaking.
2
Wedgie 'Em Out
This documentary looks at the design origins of the Jedi vessel, from concept sketch to maquette to full-sized prop. This Episode II starship continues to bridge the design styles of the prequel and original films.
3
We Didn't Go to the Desert to Get a Suntan
Location, location, location -- while the Star Wars movies travel from one side of the galaxy to the other to showcase a lot of strange things, to get that onto film (or the digital equivalent) requires the crew to travel from one side of the planet to the other. Finse, Caserta, Tozeur, Seville -- a Star Wars crewer's passport is stamped with countries from around the world.
4
Trying to Do My Thing
Having completed the bulk of photography required for Episode II, Hayden can now reflect on the experience. Here's a look at this talented new star, including an exclusive glimpse at his winning screen test performance.
5
A Twinkle Beyond Pluto
The sense of scope found in scenes of Mos Eisley, Mos Espa, Theed and Coruscant would not nearly be so impressive without its bustling crowds. This documentary celebrates those much-needed bodies that fill out the frames of the Star Wars films. Most are likely to get more screen time in this documentary than they do in the movie. The background players can now become the stars.
6
It's All Magic
This documentary takes a look at ILM's role on set, and what happens before the digital creations are built in the computer, or the miniatures are constructed.
7
Revvin' It To The Next Level
The usefulness of this plane lay not in its looks, but in its sounds. The Star Wars films are always rich in aural phenomena. Sound experts like Ben Burtt and Matthew Wood are tasked with collecting real-world sounds to double as otherworldly noises. In doing this, they have traveled all over the world and recorded all manner of bizarre things.
8
A Jigsaw Puzzle
As with The Phantom Menace, Episode II is keeping ILM's model shop busier than ever. They're putting together environments and objects that digital cannot yet recreate efficiently. These hands-on modelmakers work in tandem with digital artists to create an entire imagined world. In the finished film, their miniatures will be augmented with digital embellishments for added realism. Often, the term "miniature" just doesn't apply -- especially to these huge models of a rain-buffeted hermetically sealed city or an immense coliseum seemingly carved out of the living rock.
9
Bucket Head
History has a way of repeating itself. With a few scant months to go before the premiere of Attack of the Clones, there's a new bounty hunter who's the talk of the town.
10
Good to G.O.
It's an image fans have been waiting decades for: a harsh battlefield on a distant world abuzz with the glow and sound of hundreds of lightsabers. Episode II will finally make this vision a reality. To deliver this on screen, Stunt Coordinator Nick Gillard worked with Jedi actors Samuel L. Jackson, Ewan McGregor, Hayden Christensen and dozens of extras to create a diversity of fighting styles fit for the Jedi order.
11
P-19
She is Padmé Amidala, now 24 years old, and Senator of Naboo. To demonstrate her change in role and age, Writer/Director George Lucas tasked the Art Department and Costume Designer Trisha Biggar to develop a new style that embodied femininity, sensuality, and yet still retained the sensibilities of Star Wars.

Reel 6
Star Wars movies end in a big fashion, and Attack of the Clones is no different. The last 45 minutes of the movie are a visual feast of incredible detail. Sandwiched between the droid factory and the battles of the Clone War is the centerpiece of the sixth reel, the massive Geonosian arena, and the incredible confrontations that occur there.
