1. Racing Your Dream

October 9th, 199930 min

Medical student Lisa Jones is hired by Peter Collins as a waitress at the Lighthouse despite insulting his two sons during the interview. Scott is attracted to her right away, but she's doesn't think much of him. Jason tries to build up his brother, telling Lisa that Scott is training for the Olympics. Scott isn't happy with the lie until he see that it impresses Lisa. She introduces him to Gary of the UCLA swim team and a race is arranged. Lisa catches Scott in a lie trying to get out of the race. He starts training more determinedly. Scott loses the race, but Lisa is impresses with his effort. Scott decides to train seriously for the Olympic trials. Meanwhile, Traycee is up for the role of Dr. Sheila Lowenstein on ""Malibu Hospital,"" and she gets it. Peter is concerned when his symptoms mirror those of a character on the show who went into a coma. Also, Stads and Jason have a tough time living up to their new ""honesty"" pact.

4. Chasing Stads

October 30th, 199930 min

Things are going good for Jason, but not so good for Stads. He auditions for a coffeehouse gig and gets it; she is passed over for a promotion and is fired when she complains about it. To make her feel even worse, her hair dryer was responsible for an apartment fire. Stads comes by the Collins house feeling much better because she's decided to go to work in Europe for a year. Jason is jolted by this news. He prepares a romantic outdoor candlelight dinner and asks her to stay. She tells him no, that he can come with her. Jason doesn't want to leave his music career behind at this moment. After Stads departs for Europe, Jason says he's alright, but all his songs are about her. He also feels bad because Stads left after they fought. Jason decides to go after Stads and arrives at the German ski lodge where she is working, telling her he's going to spend the year with her. He gets a job mopping the floors and the like, but when Stads catches him playing his giutar, she knows that his music

6. Dancing Fools

November 13th, 199930 min

Lisa receives a gift (a human skeleton!) from a secret admirer. Scott finds out that Murray is the one who sent it to her. Lisa needs an additional $1800 for tuition. Jason tells her about the swing dance contest at the Malibu Country Club with a prize of $2000. When she finds out Murray and family are all members, she gets him to be her partner for the contest. Murray thinks it's because she likes him, but Jason knows otherwise. Murray is rough on Lisa's feet as her dance partner. He overhears Lisa telling Jason that she'd never have chosen him if he wasn't a club member. Murray fakes a leg injury, suggests Jason go in his place since Murray isn't known to anyone at the club. At the contest, Murray is there in disguise as a busboy. He is discovered by Jason and Lisa and Jason tells her how much Murray likes her. Lisa tells Murray she likes him too, but only as a friend. 7. The Long Goodbye

After a successful audition before Alex's uncle the producer, Jason gets the go-ahead to make a demo recording. He's surprised to see that the producer sent to work with him is a woman--a young, attractive one. Jason works with Kendall and there seems to be a spark between them. Stads (unseen in this episode) calls from Europe; Jason tells her about the demo but not that the producer is female. After a good session, Jason and Kendall seem to be moving toward romance, but Jason cuts the evening short so he won't cheat on Stads. Later Kendall gives Jason the news that he's got a record contract. Overjoyed, he embraces her, then they kiss. Returning to his home with Kendall, Jason says he needs to talk, but is temporarily interrupted by a surprise party. Later he tells Kendall that he thinks they should keep their relationship professional. Stads calls from Italy. 9. Starstruck

Jason has been having a great time with Alex and he admits to Murray that he'd like to date her. But his movie-star friend Josh Denmark tells him that he too would like to date Alex. The two have competed for the same girls in the past and both agree not to date Alex. Murray, though, encourages Jason to ask Alex out, and he takes his advice. But it seems that Josh has already asked Alex out and she accepted. Jason gets jealous as Alex spends more time with Josh. Alex rebuffs Jason's come-on to her and tells him that Josh is taking her to Hawaii. Jason later sees Josh kissing an actress, Michelle. Jason tells Alex what he saw. Josh accuses him of being jealous and Alex still plans to go with him, until Jason shows her a TV show in which Michelle announces her engagement to Josh. Alex dumps Josh and thanks Jason. 11. The Best Man

Scott tells Lisa that it's time they quit playing games with each other and go out on a date. To his surprise, Lisa quickly agrees. Murray's friend Tuber is marrying Lisa's friend Kim, and Murray and Lisa are to be best man and maid of honor. Traycee tells Murray that by tradition, he and Lisa should fall in love after the wedding. Murray then tells Scott that his passion for Lisa has been rekindled. Scott and Lisa discuss not going out together to spare Murray's feelings, but their attraction gets the better of them and they end up kissing. They agree not to tells Murray until after the wedding. At the wedding, Murray sees Lisa and Scott hiding away and making out. During the wedding vows Murray denounces Scott and Lisa so vehemently that it causes Kim and Tuber to stop the ceremony. 12. Jason's Deal

Jason is on cloud 9 when the news comes that his CD will be released and he's even happier when Steve Lansing from the record company gives him a $20,000 advance. He starts spending the money lavishly, which concerns his father Peter and brother Scott until he buys them gifts too. But Peter and Scott are surprised when Jason suddenly gets a new apartment, then they are unbelieving when his son blows off work at the Lighthouse for photo sessions and interviews. Soon Jason isn't returning phone call from his family or Alex, either. They decide to throw a small celebration for Jason but he declines, saying he's too tired to come. Alex, Scott and Peter decide to bring the celebration to Jason and they arrive at his apartment to find it filled with people partying. Feeling unwanted and unappreciated, they leave. Lisa and Scott are now a happy couple when NBA star Troy Douglas comes to the Lighthouse to visit his old girlfriend Lisa while he's in town. No one is more excited to see him than Scott. Troy asks Lisa to have dinner with him. Meanwhile, Peter is planning a camping trip with his sons and Murray. Alex and Traycee want to go along. When the men express doubt about their abilities in the wild, the girls challenge them to see who are the better campers. Scott is suspicious of Troy's motive with Lisa and begs off the trip. The girls outhike the men to the site and put up their tent first. Back on the beach after their date, Troy and Lisa reminisce about their good times. Troy kisses Lisa, who doesn't resist. The campers hear a news report about a ""mountain maniac"" escapee from the hospital for the criminally insane. 14. Retiring Dad

Peter tells his sons that he's ready to retire and for them to take over operation of the Lighthouse. Jason and Scott are not thrilled with the idea--until Dad tells them they'll get a 50% share of the profits. Lisa, working there as a waitress, is appalled at the prospect. At first Peter is happy fishing and planning trips to other countries, but he finds that the boys are so absorbed in improvements and promotions for the Lighthouse that they have no time for him. He tries to get information from Lisa on what's going on at his restaurant. The brothers start a ""Nighthouse"" dance club after hours. Even though he still owns the place, security won't let Peter in at first. An inebriated patron starts trouble and soon a full-fledged brawl has broken out, wrecking the Nighthouse/Lighthouse. The brothers and their father both want to return to the old way of running the family business, but neither side wants to be the first to say it. 15. Goin' Up in Smoke

Scott is surprised to find that Jason is smoking again after supposedly giving it up months ago. The boys are happy when their dad brings home their favorite uncle, Charlie, who is in town on military business. After Peter catches his son smoking on the beach, he asks Charlie to speak to Jason about it. Charlie is reluctant, because he's still a smoker himself. Peter, Scott and Murray try to help the pair break the habit, but nothing works and they both continue to sneak around smoking. Meanwhile, Lisa is scheduled to review a production of Romeo and Juliet for the school newspaper. Traycee not only has the lead, she helps to write the play as ""Romee-yo and Lil' Juliet."" Lisa and Alex see the production and it is awful. Lisa has a hard time writing a bad review of her roommate's performance, but Alex encourages her to be honest. 16. Movin' On Out

Traycee is driving Lisa crazy as a roommate. Traycee's late-night parties make it hard for her to study, she doesn't remember to give Lisa her phone messages, and she interrupts Scott and Lisa when they are alone. Frustrated, Lisa types up a list of house rules for Traycee to follow, which leads to a big blow-up between the roommates and Traycee says she'll move out. Meanwhile, Murray has gained Alex's admiration after he rescues a baby sea lion. It's obvious to Jason that Alex is getting interested in Murray. After she buys him a present, Murray asks Alex out. But his personality has changed around her. He now puts on an act like he's an ultra-smooth player, and Alex doesn't like it. Traycee moves in with the Collins men temporarily and they love it at first, as she caters a big breakfast for them and gets them free cable. Lisa drops by to see how things are going. 18. Educating Lisa

Scott and Lisa are in the same creative writing class together and she is flabbergasted when their instructor Ms. Grant gives Scott an ""A"" on an assignment she received a ""C"" on. Lisa talks to Traycee about it, who suggests that the attractive teacher might be romantically interested in Scott. Lisa defends Scott until she see him and Ms. Grant talking on the beach after they've run into each other. Later at the Collins home Lisa apologizes to Scott with kisses, but she worries again when he tells her Ms. Grant invited him to a writer's workshop. Lisa is sure there is no workshop. She goes to the classroom and finds Scott and Ms. Grant alone together and accuses her of trying to seduce her boyfriend, only to be embarrassed when other students arrive for the workshop. After the workshop, Scott stays to apologize to his instructor about Lisa's behavior. Ms. Grant then starts to come on him. She tells him that he can earn that ""A"" that she gave him beforehand that he really didn't deserve.

20. The Interview

April 8th, 200030 min

Lisa has been hoping to study with Dr. Harris, and when she learns the doctor is coming to Malibu and wants to set up an interview with her, she freaks out. She insists there will be no parties at the apartment until after the interview, but Traycee has already arranged a party for the cast and crew of ""Malibu Hospital."" Traycee and Scott thinks Lisa is taking this business way too seriously and arrange to play a joke on her. Kevin of the ""MH"" cast dresses as a woman and pretends to be Dr. Harris. He takes Lisa through a ridiculous interview before his identity is revealed. Lisa is mad at first, but her anger is abated when she finds out that Dr. Harris won't be coming until the next weekend. The cast party is going along just fine when Dr. Harris unexpectedly shows up. Lisa is convinced that the real doctor is another fake and she insults her so much that she seems to have blown her chances of ever getting in Dr. Harris' program. 21. Parent Trap

Peter Collins is not happy when a surprise birthday party reminds him of his age. Murray gives him some bungee-jumping tickets and he decides to do it, hoping to feel younger, but the next day at the Lighthouse he regrets it. Traycee tells Scott and Jason that their dad may be having a mid-life crisis and suggests he meet her mother Candee, a former supermodel who's in town, who maybe can provide some companionship. When the boys tell Peter about Candee, he doesn't like the idea--until he sees her. Soon Peter and Candee are inseparable, travelling around, having all sorts of adventures. Peter has never felt so alive in years, and after a moonlight swim with Candee, he tells the boys he will ask her to marry him. When Traycee hears this, she thinks it's a bad idea, that her mother won't be happy married again. Peter pops thew question to Candee at the Lighthouse and she says yes. 26. Three Dudes and a Baby
