1. The Instagram Challenge
In episode one viewers can look forward to meeting the show’s resident judges, celebrity chef and author Zola Nene and award-winning executive chef at The Restaurant at Waterkloof Gregory Czarnecki. As well as the 8 hottest South African culinary professionals who will be put straight to the test with a grueling task of creating the most instagrammable dish this week. This week the Zola and Gregory will be joined by guest judge, Omphile Setiolane, who will give the contestants a masterclass in how to style, compose, edit and choose the perfect food photo to make an impact on their Instagram feeds.
2. The Conscious Cooking Challenge
This challenge is all about conscious cooking, and sees the 7 remaining finalists head to the wine country to master farm-to-fork and seasonal dining. Their task – create an unbeatable dish using fresh honey and stay out of the frying pan.
3. The Casual Gourmet Dining Challenge
This week each team needs to create the perfect three-course menu and host the perfect occasion at the Nedbank Golf Challenge in Sun City, proving they are The Ultimate Taste Master.
4. The Eat Out Awards Challenge
This week the final four contestants get to learn from the greats, meet South Africa’s top Chefs at the prestigious annual Eat Out Awards and show that they belong at this level.
5. The Night Market Challenge
It’s the semifinals of The Taste Master and this week the top three contestants battle it out for the trip to Belgium, which is famous for its chocolate, waffles, fries and beer – Stella beer!
6. The Final Challenge
It’s the final of The Taste Master and we make a stop-over in Belgium, the heartland of chefs and brewers.
