Season 1 Plot
New York pharmaceutical copywriter Gavin is a neurotic Woody Allen-ish personality who has never been in love. Pennsylvania-based printing press employee Stacey has a subtle wit and has been engaged before. For the past six months, they have been flirting online and finally agree to meet. Their path to happily-ever-after is complicated by the screwed-up circus of people closest to them. Gavin's best friend Archie is often wrong but never in doubt and the loudest in any room. Stacey's best friend, Nessa, is brutally blunt—actually, just brutal, in general. Gavin lives in an apartment below his parents, Pam, who has zero filter and little volume control, and Michael, who thinks of himself as the family's voice of reason. Stacey lives in the tiny town of Dillsburg. Stacey's long-distance romance unnerves her widowed mom and paternal uncle, who fear she might fall in love and move away to the big city. How will they ever stay together?

A young couple trying to take their relationship to the next level must overcome their geographical differences as well as their eccentric group of friends and family.
2. Crunch & Brunch
After Stacey causes an accident, her second date with Gavin is thrown off track. Their backup plan sparks an awkward introduction for their families.
3. Snowmen & Wingmen
Gavin tries to win Gwen over by joining her for a karaoke night duet. Meanwhile, Michael and Pam argue over sex and widowhood.
4. Together & Apart
On their first weekend apart, Gavin is having a boys' night out in New York with Archie, while Stacey and Nessa relive their favorite high school shenanigans back in Dillsburg.
5. Corn & Cancer
Gwen runs a 5K in honor of her late husband and everyone turns out to support her. Stacey struggles with a secret she hasn't told Gavin.
6. Coeds & Carburetors
Gavin and Stacey accompany Archie on a quest for his lost love. Nessa deals with her dad while Pam finds a date for Gwen.
7. Upstairs & Downstairs
On the eve of a party at their apartment, Archie claims that his cozy relationship with Stacey has rendered Gavin unfit for the task and insists on taking control.
