We were overjoyed when Gilmore Girls" revival, titled "Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life." Now, we have our first look at the actress back in character as kooky chef Sookie St. James.

The image comes courtesy of "Gilmore" costumer Brenda Maben, who's been sharing a bunch of behind the scenes photos from the revival on her Instagram account. For her latest sneak peek, Maben took a selfie with Michel (a.k.a. actor Yanic Truesdale) and none other than Sookie herself.

The character (and the actress) looks like she hasn't aged a day since the series wrapped in 2007, and appears wearing one of her signature outfits: a colorful bandana over her hair, and a customized chef's coat. Could this mean that Sookie is still working at the Dragonfly Inn when "Gilmore" picks up again?

We know that the chef won't factor too heavily into the revival, since McCarthy and "Gilmore" creator Amy Sherman-Palladino famously couldn't coordinate the actress's busy schedule until the last minute in the shooting process. They eventually worked things out so that McCarthy could come in for an afternoon and film a quick scene that will be inserted somewhere into one of the four 90-minute mini movie episodes, though just what that scene entails is being kept heavily under wraps for now.

McCarthy has already gushed that the experience of playing Sookie again was "lovely," and promised that fans would be thrilled with what's in store. We have no reason to doubt she's right.

"Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life" debuts on Netflix sometime later this year.
