Plot Summary
Charlton Heston plays a Palestinian Jew who is battling the Roman empire at the time of Christ. His actions send him and his family into slavery, but an inspirational encounter with Jesus changes everything. Heston finally meets his rival in a justly famous chariot race and rescues his suffering family.

    Created after the Civil War, and before the rise of the computers, the movie, \"Ben-Hur,\" is magnificent on all accounts. The actors, Charleton Heston on, the sets, the music, the costumes, all make this a movie event that will be viewed again and again, by millions who have seen it before and before. This story of Jesus is not pushed on the viewer but rather infects him like an antibiotic-resistant virus, from which there is no escape. And as you inevitably slip into the final delirium, you too will be heard to says, \"Christ, that was some trip.\".......
