A very noble movie, which makes it interesting at times, but not often enough. show more

The saga ultimately lacks the emotional wallop of the TV version. But its clever writing, strong performances and sumptuous production design make for a rich experience nonetheless. show more

The world didn't need a superficial big-screen adaptation of a rich, dense book that's about, among many other things, the passage of time. The perplexity is why the film is so lifeless and remote. show more

A real window into the era's more's and beliefs. The acting was incredible and the motivation was "spot" on. Movies of this type are rare and that is unfortunate.

Best movie of the summer, hands down. Entertaining, thought provoking, great cinematography, and the story line could be about any family, anywhere. 5 thumbs up, and don't know why this movie got no press.....

I actually really enjoyed it. An intelligent watcher might enjoy the subtly in the themes presented. Worth a watch and an open mind.
