What really lifts Celeste and Jesse Forever above the rom-com herd, besides breakout star performances from Jones and Samberg, is the movie's willingness to replace clichés with painful truths. It's irresistible. show more
The more these two likable people rattled on, the more I found myself thinking about the elusive distinction between characters talking genuinely smart talk and simply chattering for the camera. show more

a good story with some funny situations, but ultimately the film drags down the promise
BEING “RIGHT” ISN’T ALL IT’S CRACKED UP TO BE Celeste and Jesse brings to mind the habit I have of wanting to be right”. As a result, my life usually takes a turn for the worse. Being “right” isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Attachment to this way of thinking leads to my trying to control and manipulate a person or situation. The opposite is “letting go” and creating the recipe called going with the flow, adding the ingredients of patience and loving kindness. When I use this recipe, I notice how well things turn out. Celeste and Jesses reminded me that everything and everyone in my life are my teachers. If I really listen to the lessons and consume this recipe consistently, I can create a positive transformation in myself and in my life.
I was pretty disappointed and that\'s because I wanted to like this film. The couple in this Celeste and Jesse are odd, a bit sophomoric and hard to identify with. There are far better choices out there.
