Plot Summary
Mary Faith Rapple (Clara Bryant), an ambitious high school student, has never felt like she belonged in the town of Due East, Georgia. Then she meets a fellow loner (Jesse Moss) who has recently moved to town and gets pregnant by him, only to have tragedy strike soon after. Now Mary Faith, who'd seemed destined for college, must make a decision about both the baby and her future, as her father (Robert Forster) and her conservative community react to this surprise development.
