I think this is one of the best movies I have in the last dozen years ranking up their with the Lord of the Rings trilogy and the Harry Potter series. The reason why John Carter didn't do better in the United States was that the movie should have been named John Carter of Mars.

I loved it. As much as I'm a Star Wars and Star Trek fan, this has become one of my new favorite films. I think you need to read the book before watching the film. There is a lot which needs explaining. I discovered this film on cable and watch it every chance I can.

It was pretty cool, but I had a hard time sitting through the whole thing. I lost interest about mid-way through.

Taylor K. is quite lovely, and I'm a huge fan BUT I had to stop watching this because I was very confused in the first 5 minutes. I could not follow the introduction and everything thing seemed rather disjointed. I wanted to give this movie a chance, but I doubt that I will in the future. Hopefully Taylor will get picked up for better films.

Stanton has been given the resources to create an expansive, expensive world, but lacks the instincts to direct live-action, a limitation that shows most in the performances. Bare of chest and fair of feature, Kitsch doesn't exhibit enough charisma to carry a project of this scale. Full Review

It is a potpourri of arcane and familiar genres. "Mash-up" doesn't begin to capture this hectic hybrid; it's more like a paintball fight. Messy and chaotic, in other words, but also colorful and kind of fun. Full Review

Even Strong's best efforts can't save John Carter from collapsing in on itself like a dead star. Full Review

That John Carter is so hit and miss, and miss, and miss is unfortunate on any number of levels. Full Review

It's all too much, and it's too hard to follow. Less is more, and this movie proves it. Full Review
