great performances, inspiring-make you want to start trying to do something about our current public schools. and again, the critics don't like what the people do. deserved academy awards!

This was a great movie and speaks well to the issues facing education in America. The bad reviews are from (1) union hacks, (2) teachers (particularly those that aren't good enough to compete in a real school), and (3) parents who (a) feel guilty because they are too lazy to actually get off their butts to help educate their kids or (b) parents who've been scared by the union trash talk. It is a timely movie, definitely relevant to Indianapolis which has had the state take over 4 schools, a mistake. Great acting. There are problems for public schools and this took a good look at them, a movie to lead to discussion. Patricia Wood
