Observe and Report is a love it or hate it comedy that i very much enjoyed, despite it's dark humor.

I thought this movie was great. It definitely isn't for the overly analytical, or the kinds of uppity prudes that would rather see a small dog kicked... in the ribs than hear them drop an f-bomb a few times. Keep in mind most of the people that sit around reviewing movies on the internet all day probably aren't going to be a trustworthy source on what normal people find hilarious. Full of blunt shock humor. If the naked fat man wasn't funny as all hell, then I don't know what is. Full Review

The superb character actor Celia Weston (In the Bedroom) is truly breathtaking as Ronnie's boozer mom.Full Review

Funnier than the silliest comedy because it's surprisingly real.Full Review

It falls short of brilliant but it's a lot more daring than what passes for "dark comedy" these days, and it reminds us that "feel bad" comedies may not always be as funny as "feel good" ones but, when they work, they can ultimately be more satisfying.Full Review

Ronnie is more complex, and much scarier, than the kind of self-deluding boob auds usually encounter in comedies of this sort. With the invaluable aid of Rogen, who's never been better, Hill sustains an impressive degree of tension between seemingly contradictory elements.Full Review
