Plot Summary
This documentary follows Troy Duffy, a brash, foul-mouthed bartender whose screenplay for an action film called "Boondock Saints" scores him a generous contract to write and direct the film for Harvey Weinstein at Miramax Studios. Duffy's band, the Brood, is also in the midst of signing a contract with Madonna's Maverick Records. Duffy's fiery manner is instrumental to his success, but when the deals go sour, no one seems safe from his explosive temper.

Highly entertaining, in a schadenfreude sense, but incomplete. show more

    Joe Morgenstern Wall Street Journal

His story is instructive, as well as chilling and occasionally hilarious -- a brief, probably foredoomed career during which a would-be Orson Welles, playing shamelessly to the camera, draws from a bottomless cesspool of hubris, bile and rage. show more

Jack Mathews New York Daily News

It turned out that he (Duffy) had an ego like a giant ChiaPet. With a little money sprinkled over it, it grew out of control. show more
