  • The fact that Grandma is played by Jane Fonda, flouncing around in natural fabrics, should tell you something. It should tell you there is no casting decision or character nuance or plot turn too obvious to indulge. show more

  • The only rewards, and they are real albeit insufficient, involve watching Jane Fonda in full cry and Catherine Keener in a quieter fullness of feeling. show more

  • A touchy daughter and her feely mom form the emotional axis of Peace, Love, & Misunderstanding, a touching, feeling, touchy-feely series of emotional encounters that generate much warmth in Bruce Beresford's balloon-light family comedy. If it were any lighter, it would float away. show more

Fantastic movie- apparenlyt the walk out has Jane issues she needs to get over. I cannot wait to buy this movie! Adorable and Keener is amazing as a singer.

Overall, I liked this film. I liked how it examined the love relationships--be it a grandchild, daughter or mother. I thought maybe the writers could\'ve dug a little deeper in the story, but it was still good for what it was supposed to be: a light weight comedy movie. The performances were great--especially Jane Fonda. I\'d like to see her do more films.

I WALKED OUT ON THIS MOVIE...MAYBE YOU WON\'T but when the daughter-lawyer says to her lover, \"Why didn\'t you tell me?\" And he says, \"That was a long time ago.\" I got up and left. I had enough. It was a \'trying\' movie but Jeffery Dean Morgan is so cute, dimples and all and the setting was so natural I stayed longer than I wanted to but if it had been a \'lovely\' movie thus a lovely movie experience with all those trees and water and small-towny-ness, and Woodstock, no less, and Jane Fonda is a good performer but her free-spirited-ness did get a bit trite, eccentric, and ridiculous especially her behavior with her grand-kids but even so, I remained, but there was a line for me (there is a line for me when it comes to free-spirited-ness and the movie reached it and crossed it so I left. But scenery and that small town way of life was kind of nice for a brief visit.--MO
