Plot Summary
Sandra Laing (Sophie Okonedo) is markedly different from her parents. Born in 1950s South Africa during the height of apartheid, Sandra, who looks like a light-skinned black girl, has been confirmed as the biological daughter of her mother (Alice Krige) and father (Sam Neill) -- who are both white. 5 stars based on a TRUE story wow what a beautiful fighter & survivor despite incredible odds!! Both her father (Sam Neill) and mother (Alice Krige) are white, but Sandra Laing (Sophie Okonedo) is born with dark skin...quite a beautiful baby but being born under the sneer of ignorance and bigotry Sandra grows up in a divided world in the era of South Africa, and experiences her parents can\'t understand make her question her identity. Her honest spirit of love and determination despite heart-wrenching experiences will leave you charmed by her bold and beautiful strength as she shares her beauty beyond the \"skin\"...Don\'t miss!!:-)) R-luv
