For those of you who were enchanted by the book, this movie will be a huge disappointment. We were appalled at the contemperary setting of the beginning scenes. Wayne Wang should be flogged for his butchering of this wonderful story. Many iimportant elements of the original story were left out. The constant switching from one story to the other was confusing. Save your money and read the
