    Frank Scheck The Hollywood Reporter

There's little to distinguish this from the rest of the entries coming down the horror film assembly line, though the presence of Carrie Fisher as a shotgun-toting housemother who taunts the killer by shouting "Come to mama!" offers some camp value. show more

Follows the imaginatively bankrupt trend of remaking slasher films from the 1970s and ’80s. This time, it’s a regurgitation of Mark Rosman’s “The House on Sorority Row.’’ show more

Even the gratuitous nudity can't quite save a Heathers-goes-to-college horror that's undermined by a silly plot and clunky dialogue. show more

    Time Out New York

In this breeding ground for date rape and HPV, there are some trashy kicks in seeing horrible people get theirs, plus housemother Fisher goes all buck wild with a shotgun. show more

    Marc Savlov Austin Chronicle

Brings absolutely nothing new to the autopsy table that wasn't previously covered. show more

The tedious flick offers little more than a few scares, and plenty of boobs. And we're not just talking about the cast. show more

    Variety

An average slasher picture that meanders indecisively between gore and gags. show more

It lapses into that familiar category of movies that go in for lots of fancy obfuscation along the way only to make its story seem all the more simple, trite and contrived by the finish. show more

Call me the sarcastic sister, but the only things screaming in any convincing way here are the cheap look, epileptic direction and off-key, “edgy” humor. It’s all so ‘80s, I could die. show more

Stephen Holden The New York Times

An interminable mess of a film that juggles more characters and undeveloped subplots than it can handle and even manages to bungle the setup. show more

I actually really enjoyed this movie. There is plenty of gore and suspense. Not really a shocking kind of ending, you probably couldnt of guessed who the killer was, but that was the problem, you really couldnt try and guess. There is no evidence leading up to the ending. I was also very upset that the blonde girl(who was the head of \the sorority) died. She was very funny(the way she was just so relaxed, and didnt seem to care about anything) without her i think this movie would have been alot less enjoyable. This movie is ok for kids/teens 16+ plenty of violence and blood, some strong, but not overly frequent language including f*ck b*tch, Sh*t and other milder profanities. There was also implied sex, kissing, sexual refrences, female breast nudity and male buttock nudity. Overall rating 7/10

Sorority Row is a mindless, fifth rate slasher flick that offers nothing new and seems to have been written by one of the brain dead bimbos that starred in it. Why Hollywood continues to crank out this kind of pointless garbage is a mystery, especially when for the same money, much better, more original, and vastly superior stories are possible. I was dragged to this trash by a friend who likes this type of schlock. The best part of the movie was the ending credits which didn't come soon enough.

Even thought the previews made it look a little better, it still wasn't that bad. It was your typical horror movie but better. I expected what I saw. For people saying it's a waste of money, it really isnt so if you are planning on seing it, I reccomend it!
