    Peter Travers Rolling Stone

The compensation comes in the three lead actors, all way too good for the material dished out by writer-director Tom Gormican. show more

    Mick LaSalle San Francisco Chronicle

The reversion to formula takes a pleasing comedy and drops it down a notch, but That Awkward Moment is still very easy to like. show more

    Claudia Puig USA Today

While it has the requisite amounts of comedy and romance, it's actually more of a buddy movie. Think "Sex in the City," bro-style. show more

Joe Neumaier New York Daily News

That Awkward Moment is eminently forgettable — but worth remembering as Poots’ moment. show more

    Sheri Linden The Hollywood Reporter

Even when Gormican’s material tries too hard to be wackily crude, and not hard enough to make dramatic sense, the actors suggest layers of experience that help to fill in the gaps. show more

The most awkward thing about That Awkward Moment is that the majority of it just doesn’t make much sense and, as a relatively light-hearted spin on the romantic comedy genre, it absolutely should. show more

    James Berardinelli ReelViews

It's the Judd Apatow syndrome and there are times when the blend of romance and raunchiness threatens to curdle. In the end, however, the "love conquers all" mentality wins out. show more

It's nice to see a movie in love with New York City, but That Awkward Moment sets such a low bar for Jason's redemption it becomes a drag. show more

Liam Lacey The Globe and Mail (Toronto)

Like its characters, That Awkward Moment has commitment issues: It lacks the courage of its bad taste. show more

    Roger Moore Movie Nation

It’s over familiar, a movie that plays like recycled, R-rated outtakes from “Rules of Engagement” or “How I Met Your Mother.” show more

This was by far the best movie I have ever seen. Me and my boy cried over a bowl of ice cream and 2 tins. Three thumbs up!

Yet another example of a writer who also directs his own movie with paucity of objectivity. Had great possibility but lost it with F words interspersed with sex talk and scenes directed to a teenage audience. 3 guys who were educated, including a doctor, spoke and acted like teenagers on speed.

This was better than I expected, but not for those offended by the F-bomb. Yes it was a little raunchy, but had some good laughs. Was way better than the Adam Sandler type movies! Zac could do a better project, but he did a good job in it.

I had this on my list to see but after seeing the trailer, I have decided that this is clearly not worth my time or $$, the usualy deplorable language plus gross dialog that is suppose to be today\'s enetertainment - thankfully not mine.

Just from the little I watched of the trailer, this movie is at the very bottom of my list to see. So sad to see Zac Efron make this kind of movie. Too Bad Language is deplorable!!
