  • The Beaver, directed by Jodie Foster from a script by fearless first-timer Kyle Killen, is operating on a plane far above multiplex formula. This flawed but heartfelt movie has the power to sneak up and floor you. show more

  • Bizarre and belabored, yet grimly fascinating. show more

  • That this ambitious, if deeply odd, film is so compulsively watchable is a credit to Gibson's compelling performances, both as spiritless Walter and the Cockney-accented voice of the tireless title character. show more

A Jody Foster film with Mel Gibson? This movie would have been number 1 at the box office had more theatres released it for people everywhere to see. Because of the controversy surrounding Mel Gibson\'s personal life, not a lot of people got the chance to see it. This was an amazing movie with acting so fantastic that I watched it twice! Message to Hollywood: At Oscar time, set aside your feelings of Mel Gibson as a person and see him as the incredible actor he really is. He and Jody deserve Oscars! You will love this movie!
