The Beaver, directed by Jodie Foster from a script by fearless first-timer Kyle Killen, is operating on a plane far above multiplex formula. This flawed but heartfelt movie has the power to sneak up and floor you. show more
Bizarre and belabored, yet grimly fascinating. show more
That this ambitious, if deeply odd, film is so compulsively watchable is a credit to Gibson's compelling performances, both as spiritless Walter and the Cockney-accented voice of the tireless title character. show more
To sum it up in one word ... Terrible!
love mel...what an amazing actor
A Jody Foster film with Mel Gibson? This movie would have been number 1 at the box office had more theatres released it for people everywhere to see. Because of the controversy surrounding Mel Gibson\'s personal life, not a lot of people got the chance to see it. This was an amazing movie with acting so fantastic that I watched it twice! Message to Hollywood: At Oscar time, set aside your feelings of Mel Gibson as a person and see him as the incredible actor he really is. He and Jody deserve Oscars! You will love this movie!
