  • The material shows its age when McCall goes all "Taxi Driver" to save a teen hooker (a scrappy Chloë Grace Moretz) from her pimps. But Washington and director Antoine Fuqua, who teamed for the actor's Oscar-winning role in 2001's "Training Day," keep the action humming. show more

  • The Equalizer is silly but irresistible, taking situations of inherent gut-level impact and exploiting them for every bit of emotion and tension. It could never have been a great movie. show more

  • Mr. Fuqua, who did such a fine job directing Mr. Washington and Ethan Hawke in "Training Day," loses control of an increasingly slapdash script, and the whole movie turns into a slaughterhouse. The question isn't who wants it — box office action is assured — but who needs it? show more

Glad to be able to see a new Denzel movie. Quite frankly he makes every movie he is in worth watching. A lot of action and I love Chloe Grace Moretz, ever since her role as Hit Girl, so cute, whatta ya gonna do?

I really liked this movie! I don't want to give anything away that happens because part of what makes the movie so great for me, is that for certain scenes, my mind is saying, "there is No wayyyy....."!!! But Denzel makes a believer out of me! I'm a woman and a lot of things made me cover my eyes, but a lot of things were awesome as heck! I loved the fighting scenes! The story line did drag on a bit because they delved into some of the other characters lives, and by the end of the movie....I was drained! Not in a bad way, though.... the movie had me! I've told everyone to go see it. I will see it again when I take my 17 year old son.

Pretty good movie. The things they can make a actor do. I'm not sure at his age he could do most of what they have him doing but hey. It's a movie right? Left then ending open for a sequal. #2 coming next summer :o)
