There's a sign on the way into Norway, or at least a sign that somebody from the film crew put up: "On the eighth day, God created baseball." If amen is your answer to that, then The Final Season is the movie for you. show more

Poor writing, an indifferent production and sincere but often wooden acting make "Season" one big strikeout. show more

Very refreshing movie depicting life in small town Iowa. Movie shows there is no restrictions in a small town for everyday good living and how the small town can surface on top, but when narrow minded supervisors have to have it their way, it gets thrown in the garbage. I am glad Norway, Iowa had good sense to keep baseball on the front burner by putting their effort into little league. VanSyoc was an outstanding coach and a caring individual. Good acting in this movie...well worth watching.

Good honest portrayal of small town baseball, what it means to a community and how in many small town communities a small school district is politically taken over by a larger school district. Tugs at the heart strings, the hoosers for baseball on a smaller level.

I wouldn't put it up there with Field of Dreams but it is certainately a very good movie. If you like baseball or just want a family friendly movie this is a must see. Don't trust the critics, they don't know a great movie when its right in front of them.
