Sucks bad, real bad. show more

Elizabeth Weitzman New York Daily News

If ever a thriller were to inspire a collective "eh," it's got to be The Roommate. It's not a good movie, by any means, but it's also not bad enough to have fun hating on. show more

    Frank Scheck The Hollywood Reporter

Managing nary a single original idea throughout its 93-minute running time, the film does benefit from a cast of sexy young TV stars who should attract the desired female teen demographic. show more

The Roommate has notched an unbelievable achievement; it makes the second rate "One Tree Hill" seems like it was about something. show more

  • 25
    Wesley Morris Boston Globe

It's the latest in the blank-from-hell genre, in which misogyny and entertainment are made to seem indistinguishable while the blank makes life hell for someone who then is cornered into striking back. show more

    Roger Moore Orlando Sentinel

A timid thriller that manages a couple of mild jolts and a couple of creepy-cringe-worthy moments in its Variations on a "Single White Female" theme. show more

Keith Uhlich Time Out New York

The film's sure-to-be-brief theatrical release is a mere stopover on the way to basic-cable eternity. show more

    John P. McCarthy Boxoffice Magazine

What's most memorable about this plodding thriller are the copious amounts of foundation and lip gloss. show more

It's only February but I can already name the year's winner of Most Thoughtless Gay Stereotype in Film award. The dubious honor goes to The Roommate. show more

A far-below-par thriller that desperately wishes it were a different movie - a longing it shares with the audience. show more

It wasn\'t horrible but it wasn\'t good either. I recommend renting it. It could have been better but it wasn\'t a total flop.

Horrible movie, been done so many times before and they added nothing new or special to this one. Hard to believe such a weak script gets made into a movie. I could have wrote this one and had more excitement in it. So many bad movies lately, that\'s why I only go to the cheap show or wait for the DVD. Bad, bad, bad!

If they had followed Rebecca and Irene back to Irene\'s and showed their intense hookup it might have given that little extra to this disturbing story. Hot young girls and guys, who ever gets bored with that.

blockbuster? no. TV movie of the week? barely. this flick was lacking in action as well as substance. an experienced movie goer will find The Roommate a disappointment although i suspect one could make it though its entirety.

Not worth watching at the movies. I would of rather waiting and seen it on HBO.
