The Bay-man has made the worst and most worthless Transformers movie yet. I know, hard to believe, right? How could any summer blockbuster be as dull, dumb and soul-sucking as the first three Transformers movies? Step right up. show more

Imagine if instead of creating new music, a recording artist kept putting out the exact same album, just playing the songs a little louder each time. That's what it feels like watching Transformers: Age of Extinction. show more

Deafening, deadening and about two hours too long, Extinction would mark the weakest installment yet of the 7-year-old Hasbro franchise — if the previous three movies were discernible from one another. show more

If you're not an 11-year-old boy, or a grown-up in the mood to feel like one, the endless "wow!-that-car-is-now-a-deep-voiced-robot" scenes lack thrill. In fact, the action scenes, as in the previous films, are downright headache-inducing. show more

    Clarence Tsui The Hollywood Reporter

Belying its ominous title, Age of Extinction barely skirts the idea that humankind and planet Earth are about to be totally annihilated. What is extinguished is the audience's consciousness after being bombarded for nearly three hours with overwrought emotions...bad one-liners and battles that rarely rise above the banal. show more

The battling, metallic heroes have never looked better, but Michael Bay's choppy, dissonant storytelling methods remain as audience-punishing as ever. show more

Either I’m getting dumber or the “Transformers” sequels are getting more coherent. show more

Confounding. But not without its thrills. show more

[A] visually stunning, technically impressive and crushingly dumb and overlong picture. show more

Because the affable Wahlberg is making the sales pitch, you could kid yourself that this is just a high-tech vacuum cleaner, built to siphon loose change like popcorn. But our failure to understand the terrifying significance of the “Transformers” series is why we're in the age of extinction. show more

I have always told my boys: "That's your opinion!" For all the reviewers on this movie, I loudly exclaim - "that's your opinion!" - please don't act like you're doing me a favor by giving me what you think to be true... If you like to watch stuff blow up, this is a great movie. I don't think anyone comes to 'Transformers' expecting a "Chick Flick" or some profound "Broadway Drama" - if they do, sorry! That being said, I do wish they would have tied the first three into this one a little better. I don't know why the original cast could not be woven into this one, but Mark Walberg stepped up.

if you like these kinds of movies then you will really like this one!! Not sure why anyone who does, would give this a bad review. I wish people would stop going to see these movies if they/you don't like CGI/special effect movies with TONS of actions. There are plenty of lame ass movies you people can go see. Fun-action movie...a must see for the summer.

As one who has developed technology for the film industry for many years, and have eagerly wanted to help innovate the tools of the trade, I very much appreciate the antagonists bitter realization of what filthy purpose his wares are actually being used for, or to pick a another metaphor (completely at random) it's like the CEO of a toy company finally realizing he's made a product that could very literally be considered child abuse. Playing with robot toys as a child, I don't remember every 4th word being a swear word. Drug jokes equals instant disqualification.

If you have any intelligence, then skip this movie. Almost 3 hours of mind numbing special effects. You have to be a 10 year old boy to enjoy this. This is the worst of all the transformer movies, and that's saying a lot. I could only watch 1 hour and then walked out. Luckily I received credit for another movie.

A++. I usually don't like sequels but this one was pretty good. Not a Mark Wahlberg fan, but he redeemed himself with his performance in this movie. He's grown so much as an actor over the years. Everyone go see this one.

I think people are going to hard on this movie. I thought it wasn't a bad movie, the plot was good and I thought the character was good to. yes there was a lot of cussing in it, about the same as the first three, but the crude humor was not in it or trying to sell sex, say like in t2 was. There was parts in the movie that reminded me of t3, in fact the scenes when they went back to Chicago. The special effects was good in most parts and there was some scenes that could have looked better. But in all I thought it was a good movie, my only hang up is that the movie was just to long! It could have ended much earlier than it did. I think this is one of those movies you just have to see for yourself, because it's just one of those movies that you either going to love it or hate it. I give it two stars because of how long it was, other than that I thought it was good.

Michael Bay gets full marks for special effects. However all things considered it was one of the Worst top twenty movies I've seen. No story, cliches galore, stereotypes, and a waste of good talent! It was a waste of money. It is sad when the stale popcorn is the highlight of night!
