This is a great film! I really didn't know anything about it before renting it on DVD and was blown away by it. The cast is excellent and Stewart is surprisingly good as the teenage runaway. What gets me is that I looked at some of the reviews of it on Rotten Tomatoes and nearly all of them were negative. They didn't like this or they didn't like that and some even criticized Stewart's performance as shallow which I thought was anything but. Powerful would be more how I would describe it. Very often I have seen great films such as this one which the critics didn't seem to like at all.and yet will praise a film I didn't particularly like. Moral of the story is "don't pay attention to film reviews." Another film which I thought was brilliant and got almost unanimously panned by critics was "Little Ashes." The dramatization of the lives of Salvador Dali and Garcia Lorca. The critics would try to put you off this film as well but don't pay attention and judge it for yourself. It seems to me that some critics don't like serious and intelligent dramas which have something to say. "Welcome to the Rileys" is one helluva good film. My advice is "dont miss it!"

Very powerful story. Having a family member who was a runaway it speaks to me on many levels. Movie was well casted... Smart move to put KStew in there to help sell the movie more than it would have without her.
