It all goes down easily thanks to a terrific cast. show more

Angels Sing is a shameless holiday movie, one that will stop at nothing — even killing off characters — to try to wring one last bit of emotion out of the audience. show more

    Jen Chaney The Dissolve

Angels Sing is a heartfelt but less-than-polished piece of work that isn’t for everyone, particularly those who can’t suspend the disbelief required to accept preposterous plot developments, or the sight of Lyle Lovett wearing a variety of snowman sweatshirts. But graded on a Christmas-movie curve, it actually isn’t bad. show more

This sugarcoated Christmas tale is reminiscent of an old Roy Rogers movie, a musical Western with a moral message – except that this version features Willie Nelson as a modern-day singing cowboy and saint (aptly named Nick). show more

Working from a script by Lou Berney, which in turn was adapted from a novel by Turk Pipkin, director Tim McCanlies maintains an even hand throughout, so that neither the moments of broad comedy nor the stretches of tearjerking sentimentality get out of hand. show more

There's a lot of onscreen music-making, some of it amazing, the rest Santa-related. show more

The juxtaposition of such country-music icons with the story's cringe-worthy treacle has one siding with Michael's bah-humbug attitude. show more

Neil Genzlinger The New York Times

It’s as thinly written and unoriginal as made-for-television seasonal filler, and why it isn’t on the Hallmark Channel or Lifetime is a mystery, but fans of the singers in it might get a kick out of seeing them. show more

Ypu are missing a bet if you do not see this great holiday movie. The acting, singing and story are truly fun. I am not sure why this has not been marketed better. Get in the spirit, see Angels SIng!

Our family watched this movie and we loved it. It is a great Christmas story with heartfelt messages of forgiveness, faith and love. So well done. Everything about this movie made you smile and even shed a tear or two. A great conversation opener between parents and children! See it, definitely!
