The sleuths of the internet have once again dug up something very, very interesting.

After HBO dropped its first "Game of Thrones" Season 7 photos on April 20, die-hard fans went to work examining every detail. Thanks to their scrutiny, we now know that one photo, in particular, possibly teases an intriguing outcome. The image in question shows Sam (John Bradley) and Gilly (Hannah Murray) studying hard at the Citadel with some potentially revealing reading material.

Redditor itsjayrr was able to match the page Gilly holds in the photo with one from George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire book series, which the show is based on. Specifically, the text comes from the book "The World of Ice & Fire," and itsjayrr pulled the passage (Warning, it may include spoilers!):

It is also written that there are annals in Asshai of such a darkness, and of a hero who fought against it with a red sword. His deeds are said to have been performed before the rise of Valyria, in the earliest age when Old Ghis was first forming its empire. This legend has spread west from Asshai, and the followers of R'hllor claim that this hero was named Azor Ahai, and prophesy his return. In the Jade Compendium, Colloquo Votar recounts a curious legend from Yi Ti, which states that the sun hid its face from the earth for a lifetime, ashamed at something none could discover, and that disaster was averted only by the deeds of a woman with a monkey's tail. - TWOIAF Ancient History: The Long Night

We assume the use of the text was deliberate, so it may hint at what we'll see as the final two seasons of "Game of Thrones" unfold. If so, fans can rest assured that a hero (or heroine) is coming to Westeros; at least some of our favorite characters may make it through winter alive! Until then, we expect to see the White Walkers wreak havoc when Season 7 premieres on July 16.
