"The Walking Dead" Season 8 premiere probably will be action-packed, as a producer just teased. The real question is, how many episodes past the premiere will keep up the action?

Season 8 will start in October with the show's big 100th episode. The cast and crew have been talking up the return, seeming genuinely thrilled with the tone change of the show from this time last year. All Out War has been declared, so it would be a shock if the 16 episodes of Season 8 didn't look more like the Season 7 finale than ... most of the rest of that season.

Entertainment Weekly chatted with co-executive producer Denise Huth, a regular presence in AMC set visits and on "Talking Dead," and asked her for some adjectives teasing the Season 8 premiere. Here's her response:

"It's a ton of action. It's super exciting. I think it will be really, really satisfying. As a fan of the show -- and I am a fan of the show -- when I read it, it was just like "Awww, I can't wait! It's going to be great!" I think fans will be -- it's worth the wait to get to this moment."

We believe it, and just hope the action and excitement continue for the whole season, instead of the usual dips in the episodes between premieres, midseason finales, midseason premieres, and season finales. Spread the wealth!

By the way, if you're interested in some rumored spoilers on what happens in the Season 8 premiere, head here. So far, we know three stars have been upped to series regulars, which suggests more screen time for their characters, and two new characters are being added (so far).

"The Walking Dead" returns to AMC in October 2017. Season 8 just started filming in the beginning of May. The official trailer should be coming in July at San Diego Comic-Con.
