Disney Reveals First 'Incredibles 2' Teaser Trailer and It's Kinda Great
Get ready to suit up, fam!
"The Incredibles 2" has been slooowwwwly working its way to our ready eyeballs since the first film arrived in 2004. Disney/Pixar showed off a sneak peek of the movie during the D23 Expo over the summer, and now it's time to share footage with the rest of the class.
The first trailer is expected to be attached to "Coco," arriving in theaters November 22. But on Saturday, Nov. 18, Disney released the first official teaser trailer for "Incredibles 2." It's very focused on baby Jack-Jack and his newly-discovered powers.More, please!
Samuel L. Jackson posted almost a full year ago from his first recording session for "The Incredibles 2," confirming the return of Frozone. Since then, we've learned a lot more about the sequel.
Pixar boss John Lasseter told IGN "The Incredibles 2" picks up right after the first film (which you will need to rewatch to be up-to-date):
"It starts right as the first one finishes, so it just carries on. It starts with the Underminer and a big old set piece. You know that at the end of the first movie when he comes up and you see the family dressed as superheroes, well, that's where we start this movie.
One of the unique things about 'The Incredibles' is it's really a story of a family set in the world of superheroes. This one carries on that theme. It's awesome, the idea we came up with — simple as that. We love to really look at our own lives and look at what's going on, and find themes that we know will resonate with the audience."
Here are more details from director Brad Bird:
"There's an issue with the family's house. So, the family has to get a new house. As you can see, it's kind of a cross between a dream house and a super lair -- a secret agents house or something. Water flows throughout the whole building and its made almost entirely of sharp corners -- which is not ideal for a baby. The whole world of 'Incredibles 2' is gonna be greatly expanded upon. We'll be seeing a lot more of Elastagirl."
During D23, Walt Disney Studios showed off concept art for the new movie, and lucky critics/fans (including Moviefone) shared details on the sneak peek they showed. Maybe that's what everyone else will get to see tomorrow. Either way, get ready.
"The Incredibles 2" opens June 15th, 2018
