Lock in your Black Hood killer guesses, 'cause the reveal is coming soon.

"Riverdale" Season 2 only has three episodes left in 2017 before taking a month off a returning in January 2018. Based on a new Glamour interview with Madelaine Petsch (Cheryl Blossom) and K.J. Apa (Archie Andrews), it sounds like the Black Hood killer will be revealed in (or just before) the midseason finale.

Here's that part of the Q&A:

Glamour: When you found out who the Black Hood was, what was your reaction?

K.J. Apa: I already knew. I guessed it. But everything is very...it's hard to say.

Madelaine Petsch: I didn't guess it. When I read it, it shocked me, but you won't have to wait much longer. A couple more episodes and the mystery will be revealed.

So K.J. guessed it, but it sounds like it's complicated. There's probably more to it than just picking a name. Madelaine was shocked by it, which suggests fans will be similarly split between "I knew it"/"I didn't" reactions. The fandom will have a lot to say, no matter what.

Here's what's up for the rest of 2017:

  • Episode 7, "Chapter Twenty: Tales from the Darkside" airing Wednesday, November 29 on The CW.
  • Episode 8, "Chapter Twenty-One: House of the Devil" airing December 6.
  • Episode 9, "Chapter Twenty-Two: Silent Night, Deadly Night" airing December 13.

Then the screen goes dark until January 17, when Episode 10, "Chapter Twenty-Three: The Blackboard Jungle" arrives.

Don't forget that Betty's brother Chic Cooper (Hart Denton) is making an appearance later this year. TVLine previously said he's show up halfway through the season.

Is it possible he's the one Madelaine is talking about in this answer? Hmmm:

Glamour: What can you tease about the rest of the year?

Madelaine: Cheryl has an unexpected love interest coming into the picture very soon.

Glamour:Is it a man or a woman?

Madelaine: We'll find out. TBD!

We know the Black Hood is connected to Betty. And he kinda looks like her dad. And her brother is showing up soon. What do all of these clues mean? Prepare to either be shocked or not shocked, then further confused by whatever follows.
