Brace yourself for non-stop tabloid coverage: After 7 years together, Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux announced today they have separated.

The pair, who started dating in 2011 and married in 2015, issued a statement today about their "mutual and loving" decision to end their marriage:

In an effort to reduce any further speculation, we have decided to announce our separation. This decision was mutual and lovingly made at the end of last year. We are two best friends who have decided to part ways as a couple, but look forward to continuing our cherished friendship. Normally we would do this privately, but given that the gossip industry cannot resist an opportunity to speculate and invent, we wanted to convey the truth directly. Whatever else is printed about us that is not directly from us, is someone else's fictional narrative. Above all, we are determined to maintain the deep respect and love that we have for one another.

Aniston was (of course) previously married to Brad Pitt from 2000 to 2005. Brad split from second wife Angelina Jolie in 2016. So yes, that means that Brad and Jennifer are both back on the market, as folks on Twitter were quick to note.

As reported by People, despite their breakup, Jennifer and Justin went ahead with their annual vacation to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico in December with pal Jason Bateman, where they rang in the New Year.

Gossip mags were predicting their breakup since Theroux had been spending more time in New York City, while Aniston remained in L.A Aniston attended Amy Schumer's wedding on February 14 without Theroux, according to TMZ.

Busy schedules may have played a part in the split: The former "Friends" star just signed on with Reese Witherspoon for a new Apple TV series and also filmed the comedy musical "Dumplin'" in Atlanta. Meanwhile, "The Leftovers" actor was filming the awkwardly titled comedy "The Spy Who Dumped Me" in Budapest. (That's going to be a fun junket.)

This was Theroux's first marriage. He had been with hair stylist Heidi Bivens for 14 years before their breakup in 2011.

The fact he's now single has not escaped social media attention either:
