Dave Bautista is the real MVP.

He has been stealing scenes as Drax since he first arrived in Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy." There are 14 million characters in "Avengers: Infinity War," but Bautista's Drax still managed to upstage the big names around him.

Turns out, he improvised one of his best moments. It's not the one where he gushes over Thor as a "handsome, muscular man," although that scene is classic, too. No, it's the "Why?" scene.

"Infinity War" screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely told Yahoo Dave Bautista came up with his "Why is Gamora?" line:

"The script only said, 'Where is Gamora?' 'I'll do you even better: Who is Gamora?' And then one day Bautista just goes, 'I'll do you one better: Why is Gamora?'" Markus recalled. "It's like, 'OK, you're very good at your job.'"

Nice.

The screenwriters also said Tom Holland (Peter Parker/Spider-Man) ad-libbed his big scene toward the end of the movie. No spoilers, but if you've seen it, you remember it.

"Avengers 3" is now cleaning up in theaters. It's way past $1 billion now, and opening in China's major market today. "Avengers 4" arrives in theaters in May 2019.
