Meet the new kids!

"The Vampire Diaries" gave us "The Originals," and the not-so-immortal shows are now having their own baby, "Legacies," which premieres October 25 on The CW.

Entertainment Weekly just shared the first official photos from The Vampire Diaries Universe series, which follows the next generation of supernatural beings at The Salvatore School for the Young and Gifted.

"Legacies" brings back TVD's Alaric Saltzman (Matthew Davis) and his twins Josie Saltzman (Kaylee Bryant), Lizzie Saltzman (Jenny Boyd), along with the now older "Originals" young'un Hope Mikaelson (Danielle Rose Russell).

Zach Roerig will return as TVD's Sheriff Matt Donovan, with TVD's Steven R. McQueen returning as Elena Gilbert's brother/cousin Jeremy Gilbert.

Apparently Caroline Forbes will be missing at least at the start of "Legacies," and her absence will be mentioned, but it's hoped/expected that Candice King will show up at some point -- since she co-runs the school with Alaric, and she is the twins' mother.

For now, we just have photos of "Legacies" characters Alaric, Hope, Josie and Lizzie Saltzman; plus newcomers Milton Gladston, a.k.a. MG (Quincy Fouse), Rafael (Peyton Alex Smith), and Landon Kirby (Aria Shahghasemi):

Here's more on "Legacies" from The CW:

"For the last decade, the iconic heroes and villains of The Vampire Diaries and The Originals have captivated audiences worldwide. They left an enduring legacy of love and family in their wake, which continues in LEGACIES, a thrilling new drama that tells the story of the next generation of supernatural beings at The Salvatore School for the Young and Gifted.

It's here that Klaus Mikaelson's daughter, 17-year-old Hope Mikaelson; Alaric Saltzman's twins, Lizzie and Josie Saltzman; and other young adults — including political scion MG and the mysterious Landon Kirby — come of age in the most unconventional way possible, nurtured to be their best selves...in spite of their worst impulses. Will these young witches, vampires and werewolves become the heroes they want to be — or the villains they were born to be? As they fight to protect their secret, their town of Mystic Falls and eventually the world, they will have to rely on ancient folklore and tales to learn how to battle their far-reaching enemies."

Julie Plec recently revealed that "Legacies" will experiment with the monster-of-the-week format, which is new for The Vampire Diaries Universe.

"Legacies" premieres Thursday, October 25 at 9 p.m. on The CW.
