Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Mr. Rogers could be duking it out for an Oscar.

The  Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has unveiled the shortlists in nine Oscar categories, including documentaries, foreign films, music, and shorts. The entries on each shortlist will contend for nominations, which will be announced January 22.

For Best Documentary Feature,  the critically-acclaimed "RBG" and "Won't You Be My Neighbor?" will vie for a nomination against the bizarro tale "Three Identical Strangers" and the harrowing climbing adventure "Free Solo," among others.

In Best Foreign Language Film, Alfonso Cuarón's "Roma" (also likely to earn a Best Picture nomination) represents Mexico, alongside fellow heavyweights "Burning" (Korea) and "Cold War" (Poland).

The Original Song category includes many big-name contenders, including "Shallow" from "A Star Is Born," "All the Stars" from "Black Panther," and two tunes from "Mary Poppins Returns."
