Bad Boys aren't just coming for you -- they're back.

"Bad Boys 3" -- now officially called "Bad Boys for Life" -- was expected to begin shooting in early 2019, and it appears all is going according to plan. Star Will Smith revealed via Instagram on Sunday, Jan. 6 that production has begun.

"Day 1," he wrote as the caption for a photo of what appears to be a stack of "Bad Boys for Life" scripts. "I'll keep y'all posted."

Meanwhile, Smith's co-star, fellow Bad Boys series vet Martin Lawrence, shared a post of his own. "Let's get to work!" he wrote.

The two actors are reprising their roles as law enforcement officers Mike Lowrey (Smith) and Marcus Burnett (Lawrence) in the much-anticipated sequel. They first played the characters in 1995's "Bad Boys," and then again in 2003's "Bad Boys II." They'll be joined by fellow returning cast member Joe Pantoliano as well as franchise newcomers Vanessa Hudgens and Charles Melton. Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah are directing.

"Bad Boys for Life" is set to open in theaters Jan. 17, 2020.
