The new "Suicide Squad" will still report to a familiar face.

Viola Davis is set to reprise her role as Amanda Waller in James Gunn's reboot/sequel, according to The Wrap.

The tough-as-nails Waller will be back, presumably, to continue shepherding the squad made up of DC supervillains.

She joins returning cast members Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn and Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang.

Meanwhile, other roles are getting recast, with Idris Elba in talks to take over Will Smith's place as Deadshot. And there will be some new characters, as well.

The 2016 movie made buckets of money ($746 million worldwide) but was universally reviled by critics.

Gunn, who is writing and directing this project, is bringing his own take to the property. So, it's not quite a sequel, but it's not a complete reboot either.

"Suicide Squad" (2?) opens in theaters August 6, 2021.
