Alex Ateah Biography

Alex Ateah is a comedian, artist and performer from Winnipeg, currently living in Toronto. Alex received her Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours) from The University of Manitoba in 2015 then went to study improv at The Upright Citizens Brigade in Los Angeles, California. Within her practice, the artist has been exploring the desire to connect with others, particularly in the digital age.

Through this exploration she investigates her inner psyche, questioning the motives and complexity of her intentions to create meaningful bonds. In addition to appearing in Tapeworm (2019) and I Like Movies (2022) she has been writing, producing, and starring in the comedy web series Yolo Fashion Divas alongside Kylie Friesen.
