Brad Winderbaum Biography

Brad Winderbaum is an American producer and the Head of Streaming, Television, and Animation at Marvel Studios. He is also a member of the Marvel Studios Parliament. He has been instrumental in shaping Marvel Studios' expansion into television and animation. Before this role, he held the position of Vice President of Production & Development at Marvel Studios, where he contributed to the development of various Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) films and television series.

Winderbaum's journey into the entertainment industry began in Rockland County, New York, where he developed an early interest in comic books and science fiction films. He pursued a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art from New York University, focusing on large-scale drawings of parallel worlds and staging underground theatre productions. He furthered his education with a Master of Fine Arts in Film Production from the University of Southern California.

Winderbaum joined Marvel Studios during the production of the company's first feature, Iron Man. He played a significant role in developing the studio's growing continuity and interconnectivity throughout the MCU, contributing to the creation of behind-the-scenes documentaries and interactive campaigns for films such as Iron Man 2, Thor, Captain America: The First Avenger, and Marvel's The Avengers.

He also spearheaded the Marvel One-Shot program, serving as Executive Producer on several short films, including "Item 47," "Agent Carter," and "All Hail the King." In his current role, Winderbaum has been a driving force behind Marvel Studios' expansion into television and animation. He has overseen the development and production of various series, including What If.

..?, X-Men '97, Echo, and Secret Invasion. Under his leadership, Marvel Studios introduced new storytelling formats and platforms, such as the Marvel Spotlight banner, which offers more grounded, character-driven stories. Winderbaum's contributions to the entertainment industry have been recognized with several awards and nominations. He received two Emmy nominations for Outstanding Animated Program: one in 2022 for What If.

..? ("What If... Doctor Strange Lost His Heart Instead of His Hands?") and another in 2024 for X-Men '97 ("Remember It").
