Edison Fattori

Edison Fattori graduated in Physical Education from the IPA College of Health Sciences (1989). He worked for ten years as a teacher in the field, specializing in motor rehabilitation for people with disabilities. His entry into the audiovisual world began by chance. He was driving a Kombi van when a neighbor who worked as a producer invited him to take on a side job as a production driver.

What started as occasional weekend work became routine, and between trips, Fattori began using his idle time to observe and learn the crafts of audiovisual production alongside the crews. That's how he moved into the camera department, complementing this hands-on practice with professional courses and closely following major names in Brazilian cinematography.

He became a director of photography during the transition from analog to digital film, when he shot his first films. His calling as an educator never faded: between 2004 and 2009, he taught Video Production at SENAC in Florianópolis, and he carries that same approach onto film sets, where he's known for training and mentoring emerging audiovisual talent.

Since then, he has spent more than two decades shooting shorts, features, and series screened at national and international festivals. In 2010, he received the Best Cinematography award at the II Piratuba National Film Festival for the feature film Aos Hespanhois Conphinantes. More recently, the feature Uma Questão de Escolha earned him the Best Cinematography award at LABRFF Orlando in 2026.

Today, his work continues to focus on human stories with strong social relevance, an interest that runs through much of his filmography.
