Jeff Smith Biography

Jeff Smith was an American professional wrestler known for his career in the 1970s and 1980s. Throughout his career, he gained fame as part of The Devil's Duo, a faction that became popular in promotions such as International Championship Wrestling (ICW) and Southern Championship Wrestling (SCW), where he portrayed his iconic "heel" (villain) character under the ring name Izzy Slapowitiz.

He worked in several National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) territories and other local promotions, competing across various U.S. states and even in Canada. Slapowitiz was known for his ability to provoke the audience and also worked as a manager for various factions. His last major run in wrestling came with All Star Championship Wrestling (ASCW), before retiring in 1992.

After retirement, Slapowitiz lived a life outside the ring, working as an insurance salesman and later getting involved in politics, where he adopted a conservative stance. In the later years of his life, he made some public appearances and participated in interviews reflecting on his career. Izzy Slapowitiz passed away on December 28, 2019, at the age of 69 due to complications from heart surgery.
