Martha Haynes

Since 1999, Martha Haynes has been inspiring her family and peers to find their inner beauty and enhance it in their own unique ways. Growing up, Martha always liked doing makeup and hair, helping her family or friends get ready for special events and occasions. However, she never thought about it as a career, she chose to enter the field of Psychology.

In college she rediscovered her love for makeup and hair when a student wanted their makeup and hair braided like hers and was willing to pay for it. Martha was inspired in 2001 to go to Cosmetology school instead. Currently residing in Oakland California, Martha was able to move to Malaysia in 2003 to 2004 traveling Singapore and Thailand. When she lived in Kuala Lumpur she worked for a hair salon named “Urban Vibe” being the first African American hair salon in an Asian country.

Her work was published in a Malay 2003 Magazine issue, she instructed hair/makeup classes and even lucked up as a hairstylist for Cristian Dior fashion show. From 2005 to the present day, back home in the states Martha has worked for Great America play grounds as a special effect’s makeup artist for Halloween Haunt, as well as key makeup/hairstylist in the Christmas Winterfest.

She has also worked for various beauty salons as a skilled hairstylist and makeup artist. She was able to collaborate with many talented Models, Photographers, Designers and Film Directors creating a name for herself in the Bay Area as a celebrity hair/makeup artist.
