Meena Kumari

Mahjabeen Bano, better known as Meena Kumari was an Indian actress. She was described by critics as "historically incomparable" actress of Hindi Cinema. Although known as "The Tragedy Queen", she appeared in a variety of movies, spanning different genres, from traditional melodramas, mythological adventures, comedies, historicals and Muslim socials.

She was praised by critics for her sensitive portrayal of inner lives of Indian women during the mid 20th century.
