Monalisa Basarab is a Romanian film and stage actress. She was born in Tulcea, on 23 April 1972. Since 2002 and up to now she is actress at the 'žConstantin Tanase' Variety Theatre, the most representative genre theatre in Romania. She started her film career in 1999 with the German movie 'žNostradamus - Prophet of Doom' in series 'žSphinx - Secrets of the History' ('žNostradamus - Prophet des Untergangs' aus der Serie 'žSphinx - Geheimnisse der Geschichte' in German), directed by Klein Günther, where she plays the role of Nostradamus' wife.

Along the years she also appeared international productions, especially in French movies but also in Romanian ones.
